On August 4β5, 2026, barangay kagawads serving as chairpersons of their respective Committees on Environment participated in a recycling training conducted by the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO).
The training focused on practical waste-reduction strategies, materials recovery, and the creative reuse of recyclable items. At the end of the session, participants were expected to produce outputs using commonly discarded materials, including plastic bottles, drinking straws, nylon wire scraps, bottle caps, and other reusable resources.
The program also included information-dissemination activities, such as a mini quiz bee, to reinforce participantsβ understanding of proper waste segregation, recycling practices, and environmental responsibilities. In addition, the attendees participated in a workshop on technical document preparation, including the development of activity designs and other program-related documents.
The training supports the Barangay Ko Gwapa Program and other environmental initiatives implemented by the office. Through these activities, MENRO aims to strengthen the capacity of barangay officials, promote community participation in waste management, and contribute to the reduction of solid waste in the Municipality of Miagao.
