On October 28, 2025, the Philippine Statistics Authority and the Mina Civil Registration Office conducted mobile birth registration in Barangay Amiroy, Mina, Iloilo, as part of the Birth Registration Assistance Project. The goal of this project is to assist persons who have not registered or do not have a birth certificate.

Distribution of Birth Certificates under PSA–LGU Mina BRAP

The Municipality of Mina, through the Office of the Municipal Civil Registrar, successfully conducted the distribution of PSA and Local copies of Certificates of Live Birth to 84 beneficiaries of Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and LGU-Mina.

The activity was held last September 25, 2025 at the Mina Evacuation Center, covering four barangays: Nasirum, Tipolo, Bangac, and Guibuangan.

Representing Mr. Jerry Dolutan, PSA Supervising Statistical Specialist and Officer-in-Charge of the PSA Provincial Office, Mr. Excel Tacaisan, Registration Officer I delivered an inspiring message. He was joined by Mayor Rey Grabato, SB Ana Lourdes Espiritu, and
SB Jun Grabato in showing support for the program.

The event was formally concluded with the closing remarks of Ms. Maria Tomo, Municipal Civil Registrar of Mina.

The Philippine Statistics Authority Regional Statistical Services Office VI (PSA RSSO VI) in collaboration with Regional Statistics Committee convened its 1st General Assembly (GAM) on 15 August 2025 at the Jalaur Hall of the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev) Regional Office VI. With a total of 59 attendees from the different regional government agencies, local government units, and academe in Western Visayas.

The assembly served as a preparatory activity for the upcoming 36th National Statistics Month (NSM), which will be observed this October. During the meeting, the NSM members discussed and agreed on the month-long calendar of activities lined up for the celebration.

The NSM, observed annually, aims to promote the value of statistics in policy formulation, development planning, and evidence-based decision making. This year’s celebration will highlight activities that foster greater awareness and appreciation of statistics among stakeholders, partner agencies, and the general public.

Through the General Assembly, PSA RSSO VI underscored its commitment in ensuring the successful conduct of the 36th NSM and in strengthening collaborations with partner institutions in Western Visayas.
