05 SEPTEMBER 2026 | Schools Emergency Response Plan (SERP) and Schools Emergency Response Team (SERT)
Under the leadership of FCSUPT JUNITO F MASLANG, DSC, Regional Director of BFP Region V, and under the supervision of FCINSP FRANCIS B CASTILLO, RCrim, Acting Provincial Fire Marshal of Masbate, the personnel of BFP Mobo Fire Station, led by SFO4 Gil Allan G Tabuzo, OIC, conducted conducted the Crafting of the Schools Emergency Response Plan (SERP) and Training of the Schools Emergency Response Team (SERT) at Pinamarbuhan Elementary School, Brgy. Pinamarbuhan, Mobo, Masbate. This is part of the Obligasyon sa Bayan: Ligtas na Pamayanan and the BFP Community-Centric Fire Prevention Masterplan.
The activity primarily focused on preparing the adult members of the school community, composed of teaching and non-teaching personnel, to effectively respond to fire incidents and other emergencies that may occur within the school premises.
As part of the SERT training, the participants underwent Basic Skills for Responders (BSR) and Technical Skills for Responders (TSR), where they were equipped with essential knowledge and practical skills in fire prevention and suppression, basic life support and first aid, emergency response procedures, evacuation and fire drill management, proper use of fire extinguishers, and other basic rescue and emergency response techniques.
