The City Government of Cagayan de Oro continues to advance initiatives toward strengthening the local fisheries sector as the Technical Working Group (TWG) for the proposed City Fish Port Complex Project convened on June 16, 2026, at the Conference Room of the City Planning and Development Office (CPDO).
The meeting gathered representatives from the Agricultural Productivity Operations Office (APOO), City Engineerβs Office (CEO), City Housing and Urban Development Department (CHUDD), Cagayan de Oro Economic Enterprises and Business Development Administration (CEEBDA), Oro Trade and Investment Promotions Center (ORO-TIPC), City Assessorβs Office, City Local Environment and Natural Resources Office β Land Administration and Management Office (CLENRO-LAMO), and the City Legal Office (CLO) to discuss updates and strategic directions for the project.
During the session, APOO presented the latest developments on the proposed City Fish Port Complex, highlighting its importance in improving fishery infrastructure, supporting fisherfolk communities, and enhancing the cityβs agricultural and fisheries value chain.
The City Engineerβs Office also presented the Site Development Plan and Perspective Design of the facility, while CHUDD discussed the Resettlement Plan to ensure inclusive and community-centered implementation. Updates on the necessary tenurial instruments were likewise tackled to support the projectβs development requirements.
Through the collaborative efforts of various city departments and offices, the City Fish Port Complex Project aims to provide a more sustainable, organized, and accessible facility that will boost opportunities for Cagayan de Oroβs fisherfolk and contribute to the cityβs food security goals.
