The City Government of Cagayan de Oro continues to advance initiatives toward strengthening the local fisheries sector as the Technical Working Group (TWG) for the proposed City Fish Port Complex Project convened on June 16, 2026, at the Conference Room of the City Planning and Development Office (CPDO).

The meeting gathered representatives from the Agricultural Productivity Operations Office (APOO), City Engineer’s Office (CEO), City Housing and Urban Development Department (CHUDD), Cagayan de Oro Economic Enterprises and Business Development Administration (CEEBDA), Oro Trade and Investment Promotions Center (ORO-TIPC), City Assessor’s Office, City Local Environment and Natural Resources Office – Land Administration and Management Office (CLENRO-LAMO), and the City Legal Office (CLO) to discuss updates and strategic directions for the project.

During the session, APOO presented the latest developments on the proposed City Fish Port Complex, highlighting its importance in improving fishery infrastructure, supporting fisherfolk communities, and enhancing the city’s agricultural and fisheries value chain.

The City Engineer’s Office also presented the Site Development Plan and Perspective Design of the facility, while CHUDD discussed the Resettlement Plan to ensure inclusive and community-centered implementation. Updates on the necessary tenurial instruments were likewise tackled to support the project’s development requirements.

Through the collaborative efforts of various city departments and offices, the City Fish Port Complex Project aims to provide a more sustainable, organized, and accessible facility that will boost opportunities for Cagayan de Oro’s fisherfolk and contribute to the city’s food security goals.

Tignapoloan, CdeO — To support environmental conservation and sustainable fisheries development, the Agricultural Productivity Operations Office (APOO) joined the RMFB 10 Advisory Group Environmental Project 2026 through the release of 200 tilapia fingerlings at Sinulom, Barangay Tignapoloan on June 4, 2026.

The initiative aims to contribute to aquatic resource enhancement while promoting collaboration among government agencies and community partners in protecting the environment and strengthening local food resources.

The activity was conducted in partnership with Hon. Jay R. Pascual, Hon. Marlon Fidel D. Bongay Jr., the PNP Advisory Group, and APOO, highlighting a shared commitment toward sustainable agriculture, environmental stewardship, and community development.

Through continuous partnerships, APOO remains committed to supporting programs that promote responsible resource management and uplift the agriculture and fisheries sector of Cagayan de Oro City.

Take a look back at the successful 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐥𝐲 (𝐁𝐒𝐅) 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 held last May 18, 2026 in Barangay Mambuaya through the collaboration of the Agricultural Productivity Operations Office (APOO) and ATI-RTC X pinaagi sa 𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐬!

Farmers learned how BSF technology can transform food waste into sustainable solutions for animal feeds and organic fertilizer — helping reduce farm costs while promoting climate-smart and eco-friendly agriculture.

The orientation featured insights from Mr. Honorio Cervantes of Cervantes Squarefoot Gardening and Ms. Delinda Feniza of Feniza Farm, who shared real-life experiences on the benefits of BSF in farming and livestock production.
