From a mother of eight in Gingoog City who now sleeps with peace of mind, to a hardworking father of Misamis Oriental who finally owns the land that sustains his family, and a Lumad engineer in Bukidnon cultivating his own farm with pride, these are not just stories; they are proof that government service is reaching the people where it matters most.

Each title awarded is more than a piece of paper; it is security, opportunity, and dignity. This shows our government is working, delivering, and empowering communities across Northern Mindanao and beyond.

𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐑 𝐗 𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐒 𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐍-𝐔𝐏 𝐃𝐑𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐈𝐍 𝐂𝐀𝐆𝐀𝐘𝐀𝐍 𝐃𝐄 𝐎𝐑𝐎 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐋𝐃 𝐖𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources Regional Office X (DENR X), through its Water Resources Utilization Section (WRUS) of the Licenses, Patents and Deeds Division (LPDD), conducted a clean-up drive on March 19, 2026, at Barangay Patag, Cagayan de Oro City, in celebration of World Water Day 2026.

The activity brought together DENR X personnel and community members in a collective effort to promote environmental awareness and protect vital water resources. Among the attendees were LPDD Chief Dario Barbarona, WRUS Chief Raul Pallares, Community Environment and Natural Resources (CENR) Officer Jerome Pioquinto of CENR Office Initao, and Barangay Patag officials, Barangay Captain Eric Abaday, and Kagawad James Ferdinand Mauricio, along with selected personnel of DENR X and Barangay Council.

This year’s initiative is anchored on the theme, “Water and Gender Equality - Where water flows, equality grows.” The clean-up drive aimed to raise awareness on the importance of maintaining clean waterways and encouraging public participation in environmental protection efforts. World Water Day, celebrated annually on March 22, serves as a global reminder of the need to conserve and sustainably manage freshwater resources.

Through coordinated efforts on the ground, participants collected waste materials and cleared areas surrounding local water sources, demonstrating how community action contributes to cleaner and healthier environments. After the activity, the Local Government Unit of Cagayan de Oro City will pick up the collected residual and non-recyclable waste, while recyclable materials will be transported to the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) of Barangay Patag.

The DENR Regional Office X continues to encourage the public to take an active role in safeguarding the environment and supporting initiatives that promote water conservation and ecological sustainability.

𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐑 𝐗 𝐈𝐓 𝐓𝐄𝐀𝐌 𝐏𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐔𝐏 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐒𝐃-𝐖𝐀𝐍 𝐒𝐊𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐒 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐈𝐆𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐘

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region X (DENR X) successfully hosted a two-day “FortiGate Fast Track Outline and Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) Training Program” for its Information Technology (IT) specialists and staff, conducted in collaboration with the DENR Knowledge and Information Systems Service (KISS) and third-party IT solutions provider InfoBahn Communications, Inc., reinforcing its commitment to digital transformation and technology-driven public service.

The activity opened with a message from DENR X Assistant Regional Director for Management Services, Ma. Theresa J. Allen, on behalf of Regional Executive Director Henry A. Adornado, PhD, highlighted the importance of SD-WAN in modernizing government operations and emphasized that the training supports DENR Region X’s push for digitalization and more efficient, responsive services. She also recognized the competence and potential of the region’s IT specialists in driving innovation and strengthening information systems.

Information Systems Analyst II Jovan L. Lucino of the Network Infrastructure Management Division, DENR Central Office, presented the training rationale, stressing the need to enhance personnel skills in network management and security.

Technical sessions, led by Product Solutions Engineer Marvileen Gordo of InfoBahn Communications, Inc., covered SD-WAN fundamentals, FortiGate features, configuration, security, monitoring, and VPN setup, along with hands-on exercises.

The second day featured onsite training at CENR Initao, providing practical experience in SD-WAN implementation.

Through this initiative, DENR Region X continues to enhance its digital capabilities toward a more secure, efficient, and resilient network infrastructure.
