ADVISORY:SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AGAINST INDONESIA FOREST FIRE HAZE

TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC:

Satellite and environmental monitoring show that prevailing winds are bringing transboundary haze and fine smoke particles from land and forest fires in Indonesia into our airspace. This has caused a drop in air quality, which can trigger respiratory and cardiovascular issues, especially for vulnerable individuals.

Please practice the following safety measures immediately:

*Stay Indoors: Keep windows and doors tightly closed to block out smoke. Minimize all outdoor activities.

*Wear N95 Masks: If you must go outside, wear a well-fitted N95 mask. Standard cloth or surgical masks cannot filter out fine haze particles.

*Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to relieve throat irritation and help flush out toxins.

*Drive Safely: Turn on your headlights or fog lights. Reduce speed, as the haze significantly lowers road visibility.

*Protect the Vulnerable: Closely monitor children, the elderly, pregnant women, and anyone with asthma or heart conditions. Keep their emergency medications nearby
