DA-PCC, CMU renew partnership to strengthen livestock R&D
The Department of Agriculture-Philippine Carabao Center (DA-PCC) and Central Mindanao University (CMU) marked a significant milestone in their longstanding collaboration through the signing of a 25-year Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), reaffirming their shared commitment to advancing research, innovation, and capacity-building initiatives for the Philippine livestock sector.
The renewed partnership provides a strengthened framework for collaborative research and development programs focusing on carabao and other livestock species, in accordance with Republic Act No. 7307 and Republic Act No. 12308. Through this agreement, both institutions aim to accelerate technology generation, knowledge exchange, and human resource development to address emerging challenges and opportunities in the livestock industry.
The agreement is expected to open new avenues for collaborative research, technology development, and institutional strengthening.
The MOA was signed by Dr. Rolito G. Eballe, CMU President, and Dr. Liza G. Battad, DA-PCC Executive Director III, in the presence of Dr. Jose Obedencio Jr., Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine of CMU, and Dr. Edwin C. Atabay, DA-PCC Deputy Executive Director. [By: Genrev Lemuel Oanes]
