𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐠 𝐀, 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐢

Alhamdulillah, another conflict has been peacefully resolved through the leadership and dedication of Hon. Mayor Racma D. Andamama, together with her husband, Engr. Mangontawar Andamama.

The misunderstanding involving Saipoden Abubakar and Saidali Barig vs. Kando and Punag, residents of Barangay Sundig A, Munai, was successfully settled through dialogue, unity, and mutual understanding.

This meaningful resolution was made possible with the active participation and support of Barangay Chairman Hon. Farhan Locsadato, who played an important role in bringing both parties together toward peace and reconciliation. The settlement was also initiated through the efforts of the Perembungan member of Sharia and the Sultan sa Bacayawan, whose guidance and mediation greatly contributed to the peaceful outcome of the dialogue.

Special thanks were likewise extended to the other negotiators and community elders who extended their time, wisdom, and support in ensuring that the conflict was resolved peacefully and respectfully.

𝐑𝐢𝐝𝐨 𝐒𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐢: 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐆𝐔 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩

Peace and reconciliation took center stage on April 28, 2026, as a "rido" between the 𝑫𝒐𝒎𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒈-𝒁𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝑭𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒚 and the 𝑩𝒂𝒍𝒕-𝑷𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒓𝒖𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒏 𝑭𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒚 was successfully and peacefully resolved at the Municipal Function Hall in Tambo, Munai, Lanao del Norte.

The conflict, which originated from a vehicular accident on December 23, 2025, along the national highway in Pantar, Lanao del Norte, had raised tensions between the two families. However, through the firm and compassionate leadership of the Local Government Unit of Munai, a peaceful settlement was achieved—highlighting the power of dialogue, unity, and community cooperation.

At the forefront of this effort was 𝑯𝒐𝒏. 𝑴𝒂𝒚𝒐𝒓 𝑹𝒂𝒄𝒎𝒂 𝑫. 𝑨𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒎𝒂, whose commitment to peacebuilding and conflict resolution played a crucial role in bringing both parties together. Guided by her belief that Munai’s deep-rooted family ties bind its people as one, she emphasized that conflicts must always find resolution through understanding and shared respect.

Supporting this initiative were key stakeholders, including COL Robert F. Betita, PA, Brigade Executive Officer of the 2nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade, Armor Division; CPT Jamel O. Tawantawan (QMS) PA, Civil-Military Operations Officer representing the 44th Infantry Battalion; Hon. Ikie Balabagan, ABC President; and PCPT Pandapatan P. Tataan, Chief of Police of Munai MPS. Also present were members of the Sangguniang Bayan, councilors, and barangay captains, whose presence reinforced the collective commitment of local leaders to uphold peace and order in the municipality.

The active involvement of councilors and barangay officials underscored the strength of grassroots governance in Munai—demonstrating how collaboration between local leaders and security sectors can effectively address disputes and restore harmony within the community.

This successful mediation reflects the LGU’s unwavering dedication to fostering a culture of peace. More than just resolving a conflict, it reaffirmed Munai’s identity as a community grounded in shared history, kinship, and mutual respect.

Indeed, through unity and strong leadership, Munai continues to prove that even the deepest conflicts can be resolved when a community stands together as one.

The 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐲-𝐎𝐮𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 1𝐬𝐭 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫 was successfully conducted through the dedicated efforts and leadership of Honorable 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐦𝐚 𝐃. 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐦𝐚, in close coordination with 𝗠𝗦𝗪𝗗𝗢 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗙𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝗴𝗼..

Day 1 (April 7, 2026) marked the beginning of the two-day activity held at the Tambo Gym in Tambo, Munai, Lanao del Norte.

Beneficiaries were accommodated in an organized and systematic manner, ensuring a smooth and efficient distribution of financial assistance to our beloved senior citizens.

In strong partnership with the Bureau of Soils and Water Management, LGU-Munai, and PLGU-Lanao del Norte, the Municipality of Munai proudly celebrated another significant achievement — the successful turnover of the Ramain Small Water Impounding Project (SWIP).

The ceremony was graced by 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐦𝐚 𝐃. 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐦𝐚 together with her husband, 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐦𝐚. Also present were 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐀𝐛𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬 𝐏. 𝐏𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐨, 𝐏𝐎𝐂 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞, and 𝐃𝐫. 𝐋𝐮𝐳 𝐈. 𝐆𝐮𝐳𝐦𝐚𝐧, 𝐃𝐕𝐌, 𝐅𝐎𝐃 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟, along with other distinguished guests and stakeholders.

The event commenced with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting, symbolizing the official turnover of the project, followed by a formal program held at the Municipal Session Hall. Messages of gratitude and congratulations were shared, highlighting the collaborative effort that made the project possible.

The Ramain SWIP stands as a testament to effective partnership and shared commitment toward agricultural development and sustainable water resource management in Munai. Indeed, another project success for the people of Munai!

The Municipality of Munai took an important step toward building a more resilient and future-ready community as the Local Government Unit of Munai, headed by 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐦𝐚 𝐃. 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐦𝐚, together with barangay captains, business owners, and local associations, successfully participated in a Workshop on Community Futures and Contingency Planning held at the MSU-IIT OC Board Room on January 30, 2026.

The workshop, spearheaded by 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐲 𝐓𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐬, 𝐏𝐡𝐃, Vice Chancellor for Strategic Initiatives of MSU-IIT, aimed to strengthen local capacities in identifying risks, mapping community resources, and developing forward-looking, sector-based action plans for sustainable development.

Designed as a participatory platform, the activity brought together local leaders and stakeholders to reflect on Munai’s current community landscape, anticipate future challenges and opportunities, and collaboratively craft contingency and action plans grounded in local realities.

Through this meaningful collaboration between MSU-IIT and the Municipality of Munai, inclusive, practical, and responsive solutions were generated to directly address community needs and support long-term development and resilience.

The Municipal Peace and Order Council of Munai has reinforced the strict enforcement of barangay curfew in all barangays from 10:00 𝐏𝐌 𝐭𝐨 4:00 𝐀𝐌, in support of the AFP and PNP operations following the recent incident in Barangay Lininding.

This initiative aims to strengthen public safety, maintain peace and order, and assist ongoing investigations, while exempting duly identified health personnel, emergency responders, on-duty government personnel, and individuals responding to medical or other urgent emergency situations from curfew enforcement.
