𝐄𝐘𝐄𝐒 𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄! | 𝐋𝐒𝐈 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐁𝐀𝐇𝐀𝐘 𝐏𝐀𝐆-𝐀𝐒𝐀 – 𝐃𝐀𝐒𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐈Ñ𝐀𝐒!

The Regional Juvenile Justice and Welfare Committee (RJJWC) IV-A conducted a capacity-building session on the “𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐋𝐒𝐈) 𝐓𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐤𝐢𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐤 (𝐂𝐀𝐑) 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐰 (𝐂𝐈𝐂𝐋)” at Bahay Pag-asa, LGU Dasmariñas from 13 to 14 July 2026.

Mr. Ser August Perpetua from DSWD IV-A and Mr. Mikko Villamayor, RJJWC IV-A Secretariat, acted as the facilitators for the two-day event.

On the first day of the training, Mr. Perpetua imparted his valuable insights, expertise, and knowledge regarding the Modules of the LSI for the Dasmariñas’ Bahay Pag-asa and Bahay Kalinga Multi-disciplinary Team.

On the second day, the participants carried out a simulation exercise to provide LSI training to their residents, which was evaluated by the facilitators. Then, a culminating activity was also held that both residents and the MDT attended.

"Life skills" are abilities for adaptive and positive behavior that enable individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life. These are essential and help children adapt to different situations and overcome obstacles or challenges in life.

The Regional Juvenile Justice and Welfare Committee (RJJWC) IV-A led the capacity-building on the “𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐋𝐒𝐈) 𝐓𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐤𝐢𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐤 (𝐂𝐀𝐑) 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐰 (𝐂𝐈𝐂𝐋)” at the Bahay Pag-asa ng Batangan, on 24 - 25 June 2026.

Mr. Ser August Perpetua, CAR and CICL Focal, DSWD IV-A, served as the resource person during the two-day activity. Mr. Perpetua shared his valuable knowledge, insights, and expertise on the LSI Toolkit for the Bahay Pag-asa Staff and residents.

On the 2nd day, a simulation activity was conducted by the participants in facilitating LSI training to their residents. There was also a culminating activity that both residents and the Multi-Disciplinary Team attended.

The Life Skills Intervention (LSI) Toolkit for CAR and CICL is co-developed by A Child's Trust Is Ours to Nurture (ACTION), Inc., DSWD, and JJWC under the auspices of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). It is one of the outputs of the capacity-building project entitled, “𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘚𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘍𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 11 𝘙𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴.”

The Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office of Magdalena, Laguna spearheaded the "𝘊𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘉𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘜𝘱𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘌𝘯𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘓𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘉𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘺 𝘑𝘶𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘭𝘦 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘮 (𝘊𝘓/𝘉𝘑𝘐𝘗)" on July 08 - 09, 2026, at The Amazing View Mountain Resort, Mabitac, Laguna.

The twenty-four (24) barangays were oriented on the Salient Features of the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act (JJWA), differentiated Children at Risk (CAR) and Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL), and capacitated on the systematic handling of CAR and CICL at the barangay level.

Also, participants were trained and underwent several workshops in formulating and updating their Comprehensive Barangay Juvenile Intervention Program (CBJIP).

Mr. Mikko Villamayor, RJJWC IV-A Secretariat, served as the resource speaker during the participative and fruitful two-day activity of the MSWD Magdalena.

𝗥𝗝𝗝𝗪𝗖 𝗜𝗩-𝗔 & 𝗥𝗦𝗖𝗪𝗖 𝗜𝗩-𝗔: 𝗝𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗧 𝟮𝗡𝗗 𝗤𝗨𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗠𝗘𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚!

Through the implementation of the austerity measures, the Regional Juvenile Justice and Welfare Committee (RJJWC) IV-A, together with the Regional Sub-Committee for the Welfare of Children IV-A Calabarzon, went online and conducted its Joint 2nd Quarter Meeting held on 23 June 2026 via Zoom.

Mr. Jefferson Medrano, Division Chief of DSWD IV-A's Protective Services Division, presided over the Virtual Joint Meeting, which covered updates on their recent and ongoing initiatives, successes, and issues with the application of children's laws.

The two (2) Committees continuously collaborate in their commitment to promote the rights and welfare of the children in CALABARZON.

Job Summary:
The Administrative Assistant II shall train and monitor the users of the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Information Management System (JJ-MIS) and provide administrative assistance to the Support for Bahay Pag-Asa Project.

Celebrating 20 years of the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act (JJWA), the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council (JJWC) continues its steadfast commitment to protecting children in conflict with the law (CICL) and their communities. Anchored on the theme "𝓚𝓪𝓽𝓪𝓻𝓾𝓷𝓰𝓪𝓷, 𝓚𝓪𝓵𝓲𝓷𝓰𝓪, 𝓪𝓽 𝓚𝔀𝓮𝓷𝓽𝓸 𝓷𝓰 𝓟𝓪𝓰-𝓐𝓼𝓪," the recent Legal Assistance Program launch at the Molave Youth Home was highlighted by a ceremonial signing of a partnership pledge with the Local Government of Quezon City and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines – Quezon City Chapter. This initiative ensures gender-responsive, inclusive, and tailored legal services that address the unique rehabilitation needs of youth while empowering them toward a better future.

Further reinforcing this holistic approach, JJWC has also partnered with the Philippine Group of Law Librarians to establish, enhance, and sustain library services and information programs in selected Bahay Pag-Asa facilities. This collaboration focuses on library development, literacy programming, and research support to foster growth and learning. Together with dedicated partners and volunteer lawyers, JJWC remains dedicated to delivering justice and hope to every child.
