Today, August 20, 2026, a total of 30 parents received livelihood assistance through the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP), providing them with opportunities to establish or strengthen their own sources of income and build more sustainable livelihoods for their families.
๐ฏ 8 Parents of Undernourished Children received a Barbecue Package worth โฑ50,000.00 each;
๐ฏ 10 Parents of Former Child Laborers received a Barbecue Package worth โฑ50,000.00 each; and
๐ฏ 12 Parents of Former Child Laborers received a Carinderia Package worth โฑ50,000.00 each.
This initiative is made possible through the strong collaboration of the City Government of Muntinlupa, led by Hon. Mayor Rozzano Rufino โRuffyโ Biazon, through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) headed by Ms. Glenda Zamora-Aniรฑon, and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) โ National Capital Region, spearheaded by Atty. Sarah Buena S. Mirasol, DOLE NCR Director, represented during the activity by Mr. Jeremiah T. Carlos, Director of the DOLE Muntaparlas Field Office.
The DILP is more than just the provision of livelihood packagesโit is an investment in families and a step toward creating sustainable economic opportunities for vulnerable sectors. It supports the Cityโs 7K Agenda, particularly Kabuhayan, by empowering families with livelihood opportunities that can help improve their income and economic well-being.
It also reinforces the continuing efforts of DOLE and the City Government of Muntinlupa in the fight against child labor. By providing livelihood opportunities to parents of former child laborers, families are given additional means to support their children and help ensure that they remain in school and are protected from the risks of child labor.
At the same time, the project complements the City Governmentโs continuing commitment to the elimination of malnutrition through the City Nutrition Committee, of which PESO is an active member. By helping parents of undernourished children gain access to livelihood opportunities, the program addresses not only employment and income concerns but also contributes to building healthier and more resilient families.
As part of the activity, beneficiaries were also oriented on the Vision, Mission, and Goals of the City Nutrition Committee, through a lecture delivered by Ms. Faith Macabulos, Nutritionist Scholar of the City Health Office, as well as on Proper Food Handling, facilitated by the CHO-SANIDAD Officers.
Prior to the awarding, the 30 livelihood beneficiaries underwent Social Preparation Orientation conducted by the DOLE Muntaparlas Field Office, equipping them with essential knowledge and guidance as they prepare to manage and sustain their livelihood projects.
The 8 Parents of Undernourished Children were identified through the City Health Office Barangay Nutritionist Scholars (BNS), while the 22 Parents of Former Child Laborers were profiled by DOLE as part of the implementation of the Child Labor Prevention and Elimination Program (CLPEP).
Also present during the awarding ceremony were Ms. Luella A. Abian, EPWW Unit Head of the DOLE Muntaparlas Field Office; Dra. Magdalena Meana, City Nutrition Action Officer; and Ms. Caridad Molo, Assistant Department Head of the City Social Services Department.
From livelihood assistance to child labor prevention and nutrition support, this convergence demonstrates how collaboration can create meaningful and lasting opportunities for Muntinlupa families.
