Strengthening Security: 303rd Brigade Join PPOC-PADAC Meeting
BGEN Ted B. Dumosmog PA, Commander of the 303rd Infantry Brigade, together with CPT Sacopla and BGEN Joey A. Escanillas PA, Brigade Commander of the 302nd Infantry Brigade, attended the 2nd Quarter Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) and Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) Meeting held at the Social Hall, Provincial Capitol, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.
The meeting was presided over by Hon. Eugenio Jose V. Lacson, PPOC/PADAC Chairman, and participated in by key provincial stakeholders including Atty. Rayfrando P. Diaz II, Provincial Administrator; Teodora P. Sumagaysay, CESO V, DILG Provincial Director and PPOC/PADAC Head Secretariat; and Ms. Cristina Gaston, President of the Association of Negros Producers (ANP).
The activity aims to strengthen peace and security initiatives, promote good governance, and reinforce collaborative efforts in addressing criminality, illegal drugs, and insurgency in the province through inter-agency coordination and convergence.

Army honors fallen heroes in wreath-laying rites
The Philippine Army honored fallen soldiers who paid the ultimate sacrifice during the simultaneous wreath-laying ceremony as part of the Armed Forces of the Philippinesโ€™ (AFP) 89th Founding Anniversary at the Tomb of Unknown Soldiers, Libingan Ng Mga Bayani, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City on December 13, 2024.
During the ceremony, Army Chief of Staff Brig. Gen. Yegor Rey P. Barroquillo Jr. offered the wreaths to the fallen troops' who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. The Army Chief of Staff conveyed the the message of AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo S. Brawner Jr., highlighting the significance of remembering fallen heroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice in defense of the nation.

Joint Law Enforcement Operation Leads to Apprehension of CTG Key Leader in Toboso๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

CAMP GERONA, Murcia, Negros Occidental โ€” In a coordinated effort to enhance public safety and combat illegal activities, a joint law enforcement operation was successfully conducted by 79th Infantry Battalion under the operational control of the 303rd Infantry Brigade, 3ID, PA together with PNP Toboso, 1st and 2nd NOCPMFC and elements of 6SAB, PNP-SAF, apprehended Key Leader of CTG, RHQ, KR-NCBS identified as alias and a known cohort of Roger Fabillar alias Arnel Tapang at Brgy, Bandila, Toboso, Negros Occidental on December 14, 2024.

The operation was led by troops of 79IB and various units from the Philippine National Police - Special Action Force (PNP-SAF). The joint task force also included personnel from the 2nd and 1st Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company, and the Toboso Municipal Police Station led by Police Captain Armel Lasap.

This operation resulted in the apprehension of Key Leader of CTG, RHQ, KR-NCBS identified as alias and a known cohort of Roger Fabillar alias Arnel Tapang . He is a known key leader of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) remnants operating under the Northern Negros Front (NNF) and previously served as a medical operative for the Regional Headquarters of the CTG's Medical Services, specifically the Central Negros Bureau of Services.

The successful apprehension of is a significant achievement for the law enforcement agencies involved and demonstrated their commitment to maintaining peace and security in Negros Island. The joint task force remains vigilant and committed to ensuring the safety of the citizens of Negros Island. CAMP GERONA, Murcia, Negros Occidental โ€” Enemy bloodstains from the withdrawal route were discovered, high - powered and low-powered fi****ms with magazines were seized by the troops of the 79th Infantry (Masaligan) Battalion from the remnants of the dismantled Northern Negros Front (NNF) in Sitio Tauma, Brgy Bandila, Toboso, Negros Occidental on December 13, 2024 at around 03:57 in the afternoon.

While scouring the encounter site, the troops seized war materials such as: One (1) 5.56mm M16 assault rifle; One (1) .38 caliber revolver; One (1) short magazine for M16; One (1) magazine for AK-47; Two (2) magazines for .45 caliber; Assorted live ammunition; Two (2) backpacks; Medical paraphernalia; Personal belongings and subversive documents.

Fortunately, no government troops were injured or killed in the encounter, while evidence suggests several enemy combatants were wounded, as indicated by bloodstains found at the encounter site and along withdrawal routes.

Meanwhile, Brigadier General Ted B Dumosmog PA, 303rd Infantry Brigade Commander, lauded the efforts of the operating troops of 79IB in Northern Negros and recognized the contribution of concerned citizens for the accurate and timely information they provided.

CAMP GERONA, Murcia, Negros Occidental โ€“ The 303rd Infantry Brigade successfully conducted a comprehensive nine (9) - Day Deradicalization Training for former rebels with a theme, "Bagong Buhay, Bagong Pag-Asa", which aims to reintegrate Former Rebels into the society. The initiative, which took place over the past few weeks, started from December 04 to 12, 2023l4. It involved a series of workshops and interactive sessions designed to promote peace, reconciliation, and personal development among former combatants.

The deradicalization training includes educational components focusing on conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, holistic transformation, psycho-social Interventions, and ensuring that participants can forge a new path for themselves and their communities. The program also offers psychological support and community engagement activities to foster a sense of belonging and social responsibility.

The training is part of a broader strategy to promote peace in the region and is supported by local government units, national government agencies, local government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and various community stakeholders. Participants were drawn from diverse backgrounds and were provided with a safe space to share their experiences and aspirations.

Brigadier General Ted B Dumosmog PA, Commander of the 303rd Infantry Brigade represented by Colonel Victor M Llapitan, Deputy Brigade Commander emphasized the importance of this initiative: โ€œOur goal is not only to help former rebels reintegrate into the society but also to address the root causes of extremism. By providing them with the skills and support they need, we are investing in a peaceful future for our communities.โ€

The activity was also graced by Honorable Victor Gerardo M Rojas, Municipal Mayor of Murcia as the Keynote Speaker. During his speech, Hon. Rojas emphasized the importance of putting God at the center of their reformation โ€œRemember let us always put God first, a renewal of life without God at the center is just like finding a priceless treasure in a field, and as you are fixing the normal lives you oneโ€™s lost, also try to fix your relationship and faith to God.

One participant, Jonathan, expressed gratitude for the program: โ€œThis training has given me hope and the tools I need to rebuild my life. I want to contribute positively to my community and show others that change is possible.โ€

Negros Occidental โ€“ On Tuesday morning, December 10, Brigadier General Ted B. Dumosmog, PA, Brigade Commander of the 303rd Infantry (Brown Eagle) Brigade, and Lt. Colonel Evelio C. Ilanga III, Battalion Commander of the 62IB, welcomed Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian and Negros Occidental Vice Governor Jeffrey G Ferrer at Bago City Mayor's Office.

Secretary Gatchalian's visit aimed to oversee the response efforts for families affected by the recent volcanic eruption of Mt. Kanlaon in Bago City, La Carlota City, and La Castellana. A coordination meeting was held to assess the situation and ensure effective support for the impacted communities.

The Philippine Armyโ€™s 62nd Infantry (Unifier) Battalion, in partnership with the GMA Kapuso Foundation, continued its third day of Operation Bayanihan, providing relief to communities affected by the Mt. Kanlaon eruption on December 11, 2024, at Barangay Ilijan and Mailum all of Bago City, Negros Occidental.

Organized by the GMA Kapuso Foundation, the humanitarian mission delivered essential aid to evacuees in several affected areas. Relief packages, including food, water, hygiene kits, and other necessities, were distributed to displaced families currently residing in evacuation centers.

Under the Operational Control (OPCON) of the 303rd Infantry (Brown Eagle) Brigade, the 62IB, along with the 94th Infantry (Masaligan) Battalion and the 542nd Engineering Construction Battalion, provided logistical support, transportation, manpower, and security through its Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) Operations to ensure the smooth flow of the distribution.

On this third day of operations, 1,103 families from Ilijan and 870 families from Mailum with a total of 1, 973 families beneficiaries โ€˜were reached, delivering not only material aid but also messages of encouragement and solidarity. The team also assessed the evacuees' needs to determine further actions for assistance and rehabilitation.

In these challenging times brought about by the Mt. Kanlaon eruption, the Philippine Army, through its forces in Central Negros, stands firm in its commitment to serve and protect the affected communities.

IN THE NEWS | Viscom aids LGUs in forced evacuation near Kanlaon

CEBU CITY โ€“ Armed Forces of the Philippines Visayas Command (Viscom) troopers are helping local government units implement forced evacuation in three areas near Mt. Kanlaon, following increased volcanic activity, an Army official confirmed Wednesday.

Lt. Col. Israel Galorio, Viscom information officer, said soldiers are helping residents leave the affected areas after Defense Secretary and National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) Chair Gilberto Teodoro Jr. ordered a mandatory evacuation for residents within the 4-km. danger zone.
