In preparation for the implementation of the Junior Youth Public Officials (JYPO) Program, the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office โ Youth Development Division (PSWDO-YDD) in partnership with the Panlalawigang Pedersayon ng mga Sangguninang Kabataan of Davao de Oro orchestrated a ๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ ๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ ๐๐๐๐ข๐๐๐ซ๐ฌ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐๐ข๐๐ ๐๐๐ฉ๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ฌ on August 7, 2026, at the SP Conference Hall, Ground Floor, Legislative Building, Capitol Complex, Cabidianan, Nabunturan.
The quick session served as an introductory activity ahead of the 6-day immersion of the JYPOs, which will run from August 9 to 14, 2026. The orientation underscored key responsibilities of administrative staff and counterparts in guiding the junior officials throughout the program.
Highlighted in the discussion were significant considerations regarding the sashing ceremony and the office duty schedules of the JYPOs, both of which require close supervision, mentorship, and the presence of their counterparts to ensure smooth and meaningful participation.
Also, the PSWDO-YDD emphasized the programโs goal of immersing young leaders in actual governance work while ensuring that their experience remains structured, secure, and educational. Administrative officers were reminded to provide assistance in familiarizing the JYPOs with office protocols, confidentiality of documents, and proper delegation of age-appropriate tasks.
On the same day, the PSWDO-YDD successfully spearheaded a ๐๐ข๐ซ๐ญ๐ฎ๐๐ฅ ๐๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ก๐๐ง ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ข๐๐ค ๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐๐ข๐ง๐ via Zoom for the Junior Youth Public Officials (JYPOs).
The online session served as a preparatory activity for the participantsโ upcoming six-day immersion, where the JYPOs will assume the roles of their elected counterparts in various provincial government offices.
During the session, the PSWDO-YDD team emphasized the importance of active participation, discipline, and professionalism throughout the entire duration of the program. They also provided clear reminders on essential items to bring, expected office decorum, and the need for full commitment to ensure a meaningful and productive immersion experience.
Further, the Virtual Kumustahan also provided an avenue for participants to raise questions and clarify concerns regarding their assignments, work expectations, and office placements. It was an opportunity to foster camaraderie and motivation among the JYPOs prior to the start of their duties.
Lastly, the JYPO program continues to serve as a platform for empowering youth leaders by allowing them to experience firsthand the responsibilities of governance and public service, strengthening their leadership skills and civic engagement.
