Turning waste into opportunity, the Nabunturan Women Recyclers with representatives from all 28 barangays of the municipality are participating in a Recycling Training on Tumbler Holder Making Using Recycled Plastic Straws spearheaded by the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) under the leadership of Forester Geraldine L. Pizaras. The training is being conducted at the Cooperative Handicraft Industry of Nabunturan (CHAIN), Purok 15, Poblacion, Nabunturan, Davao de Oro.
The training aims to equip participants with practical skills in transforming discarded plastic straws into functional and marketable products. Beyond promoting creativity, the initiative empowers women by opening opportunities for livelihood while reinforcing the importance of waste recovery, recycling, and environmental responsibility within their respective barangays.
