While fireworks are almost always part of the New Year celebration, they can also lead to some unwanted incidents. In December 2023, there were 609 reported Fireworks-Related Injuries (FWRI) nationwide - this almost doubled the 307 cases lodged in 2022. Let us not allow this to happen again. Always pay attention to the advisories made by the authorities regarding the responsible use of pyrotechnics.

As you look forward to the the New Year festivities, the Bureau of Fire Protection is here to help you celebrate the New Year with extra care especially in handling fireworks. Here are some tips to ensure your celebrations are lit AND safe!

TURNOVER OF COMMAND CEREMONY

Earlier today, the turnover of command ceremony for the incoming and outgoing Municipal Fire Marshals of Pantukan Fire Station was conducted at the Davao de Oro Provincial Headquarters.

FSINSP IAN C. CRUDA assumed duties and responsibilities as the incoming Municipal Fire Marshal of Pantukan Fire Station, while SFO4 Romilo A. Credu, the outgoing Municipal Fire Marshal, is subsequently reassigned to the Office of the Provincial Headquarters, Davao de Oro.
