A resilient future for women and communities is being empowered! ๐ŸŒ

On August 5-6, 2025, the Provincial Stakeholder Mapping for Women-Led Organizations (WLOs) and Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) was conducted at Shine Boutique Hotel in Tagum City by the Provincial Government of Davao de Oro, with the steadfast support of our dynamic Governor, Engr. Raul G. Mabanglo, in partnership with Alinea Canada International.

Facilitated by Mr. Froilan Morales, Provincial Project Coordinator of Alinea Philippines, Inc., EnP Prime Enrique Rendon, and Mr. Jules Earl Gazmen, this Gov-CDR Project initiative in the Upper Agusan River Basin Ecosystem was attended by GAD Focals and eight dynamic women-led organizations. Key stakeholders were identified, resources were mapped, and strategies were developed to strengthen climate and disaster resilience, with gender equality, diversity and social inclusion (GEDSI) prioritized.

Heartfelt appreciation is extended to our LGU partners, DILG, DENR, DOST, and all participants for their vibrant collaboration! A more resilient Davao de Oro is being built together.

Gender and Development (GAD) in DRRM means valuing the voices, needs, and leadership of the LGBTQIA+ community in building safer, more resilient communities for all. ๐Ÿ’ช

Trivia No. 2

โœ”๏ธ Naay gender-inclusive nga evacuation plans
โœ”๏ธ Adunay safe spaces para sa kababayen-an ug kabataan
โœ”๏ธ Naay access sa hygiene kits alang sa menstrual ug maternal
needs
โœ”๏ธ
โœ”๏ธ

Immersed in Wisdom, Rooted in Respect

One of the most meaningful parts of the Training of Trainers on Gender Analysis and Mainstreaming was our community immersion with the Daraghuyan Tribe โ€” one of the 7 Indigenous Peoples in Bukidnon, located in Daraghuyan Tribal Village, Dalwangan, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.

Even if the road going there meant crossing two rivers, the participants didnโ€™t hesitate. With excitement and open hearts, they made the journey to meet the community, learn their ways, and listen to their stories.

With the help of the Provincial Government of Bukidnon โ€” through Ms. Cecille Egnar of BENRO and her team, and Ms. Cecil Isubal, Alineaโ€™s Provincial Project Coordinator โ€” the Daraghuyan community was identified for this engagement as they are one of the beneficiaries of the solar power generating project of the Provincial Government of Bukidnon, an initiative that not only brings light to their homes but also shines a light on the importance of inclusive, culturally grounded development.

Participants had the chance to do actual gender analysis with the women, men, youth, elderly, and other sectors in the community. What began as fieldwork became a journey of cultural appreciation and gender-inclusive learning โ€”gaining insights into the communityโ€™s resilience, values, and harmony with nature.

It was a powerful reminder that learning doesnโ€™t just happen in classrooms. Sometimes, itโ€™s in the rivers we cross, the stories we hear, and the hands we hold. ๐Ÿ’š
