The DILG Davao de Oro held its 3rd Monthly Team Conference at The Ritz Hotel at Garden Oases assembling officers and personnel for a focused and strategic deliberation on organizational plans, priority directions, and critical operational concerns.

The conference provided a strategic platform to review accomplishments, respond to emerging challenges, and harmonize ongoing initiatives with the agency’s goals and priorities, strengthening the team’s collective commitment to effective and responsive public service delivery.

A Certificate of Recognition was also formally given to the Municipal Government Unit of Mawab in acknowledgment of its distinction as a 2025 ADAC National Awardee, recognizing its outstanding performance and unwavering commitment to the effective implementation of anti-drug initiatives at the local level.

The award was received on behalf of the municipality by MLGOO Cherry Leybag, whose leadership and dedication, together with the collective efforts of the local government and stakeholders, contributed significantly to this notable achievement.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government Davao de Oro informs the public that the office is implementing a Compressed Four-Day Work Arrangement as part of the government’s energy conservation measures.

In line with Office of the President Memorandum Circular No. 114, s. 2026, Department of the Interior and Local Government Circular No. 2026-005, and DILG XI Memorandum Circular 2025-001, office hours have been adjusted starting March 9, 2026, until further notice.

The LTIA Provincial Awards Committee (PAC) of Davao de Oro conducted the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) Assessment 2025 Covering CY 2025 as part of its continuing effort to recognize barangays with exemplary implementation of the Katarungang Pambarangay system.

The assessment was headed by Provincial Director Ma. Aurora Corpuz, with Cluster Head Ivy Esteban leading the evaluation team together with the members of the Provincial Awards Committee. The team visited and assessed participating barangays, reviewing their records, processes, and initiatives in resolving community disputes through the Lupong Tagapamayapa.

This activity aims to validate the effectiveness of barangay-level mediation and highlight best practices in promoting peaceful and orderly communities. Through the LTIA, the committee continues to recognize the dedication and hard work of barangay officials and Lupon members in strengthening grassroots justice across the Province of Davao de Oro.

Last February 23-24, 2026, the DILG Davao de Oro Team Conference was successfully conducted at Dusit Thani Mabini Davao de Oro, convening officers and staff for a structured and meaningful discussion on plans, strategies, and key operational concerns. The activity was honored by the presence of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Director, Abdullah V. Matalam, CESO IV, whose guidance and directives provided valuable insights to further strengthen teamwork, coordination, and service delivery.

The conference also served as a venue to assess accomplishments, address emerging challenges, and align ongoing initiatives with the agency’s goals and priorities, reinforcing the collective commitment of the team toward efficient and responsive public service.

DILG COMMENDS PROVINCE OF DAVAO DE ORO’S NATIONAL AWARDEE AND HIGH-FUNCTIONAL ADACS FOR CY 2025

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) commended the eleven municipalities of the Province of Davao de Oro for their strong and sustained implementation of anti-illegal drug programs for Calendar Year (CY) 2025. The DILG recognized the Municipality of Mawab as the National Awardee and conferred High-Functional Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) status on the province’s other ten municipalities.

The distinction awarded to the Municipality of Mawab underscores its unwavering commitment to advancing the national government’s anti-drug campaign at the grassroots level. Through strong local leadership, strategic planning, and effective program implementation, Mawab has demonstrated exemplary performance in strengthening its Anti-Drug Abuse Council and institutionalizing sustainable anti-drug initiatives.

As a National Awardee, Mawab met and exceeded the performance indicators set by the DILG, including the allocation of adequate funding for anti-drug programs, the conduct of advocacy and preventive education campaigns, and the implementation of community-based rehabilitation programs. The municipality also ensured regular ADAC meetings, organized monitoring systems, and strengthened coordination with law enforcement agencies and community stakeholders.

In addition, the province’s other ten (10) municipalities attained High-Functional Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) status after successfully meeting the key performance indicators established by the DILG. These municipalities demonstrated strong institutional capacity, compliance with national guidelines, and a proactive approach in implementing comprehensive anti-illegal drug strategies.

Each local government unit intensified its anti-drug advocacy through sustained information and education campaigns in schools and communities, mobilized barangay officials and youth organizations, and strengthened partnerships with civil society groups. They supported community-based rehabilitation initiatives by providing interventions, monitoring recovering persons who use drugs, and facilitating their reintegration into society.

The recognition from the DILG affirms that sustained political will, transparency, and active citizen participation are key to achieving meaningful progress in the fight against illegal drugs. More than an accolade, this milestone serves as inspiration for other municipalities to elevate their anti-drug initiatives and prioritize community safety and development.

As CY 2025 progresses, the Province of Davao de Oro continues to reinforce its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and inclusive governance—proving that effective local leadership can drive meaningful and lasting change in the fight against illegal drugs.

Orientation and Preparatory Activity for the 2026 ADAC Performance Audit

The Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC), together with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Davao de Oro, spearheaded the Orientation and Preparatory Activity for the 2026 Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Audit.

The activity aimed to orient and equip participants for the upcoming audit—a key mechanism that evaluates the functionality and effectiveness of local ADACs in implementing anti-drug abuse programs and aligning local initiatives with national goals toward drug-free, safe, and resilient communities.

In her message, Provincial Director Ma. Aurora C. Corpuz underscored that as ADAC champions, we must not detach from the realities on the ground. She emphasized that genuine and lasting success in local anti-drug efforts stems from our ability to understand community contexts, foster collaboration, and uphold our commitment to peace and order.

The activity was participated in by Municipal Local Government Operations Officers (MLGOOs), MADAC Action Officers, and MADAC Encoders, reaffirming their shared mission of ensuring effective, data-driven, and responsive ADAC implementation across Davao de Oro.

Together, we move forward as steadfast partners in building a drug-free, safe, and progressive province.
