RACU5 Enhances Future Police Officers' Competence in Cybercrime Investigation and Digital Evidence Handling
On July 30, 2026, PSMS Leah H. Rivera, Cybercrime Investigator of the Camarines Sur Provincial Cyber Response Team (CSPCRT), under the supervision of PMAJ Angelo A. Babagay, Team Leader, conducted a Lecture on Cybercrime Prevention and Awareness, Cybercrime Investigation, and Digital Evidence Handling for the Field Training Program (FTP) trainees of Police Station 1 and Police Station 5, Naga City Police Office (NCPO), Balagsik Class 2025-01.
The lecture, conducted in response to the request of PCAPT Rowena B. Lim, Chief of Police, PS1, NCPO, was attended by approximately 50 FTP trainees. Participants gained valuable insights into the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, prevailing cybercrime trends, common cyber-related incidents, proper handling and preservation of digital evidence, and best practices for online safety. The activity reinforced the trainees' investigative capabilities and prepared them to effectively respond to cyber-related incidents while upholding professional standards in law enforcement.
“Preparing the next generation of police officers means equipping them with the knowledge and skills to confront today's digital threats.
