As part of the SK Pacol Scholars' commitment to community service, the Sitio Gilid Literacy Outreach Program was successfully conducted on June 21, 2026, to promote literacy and encourage a love for learning among children in the community.
The program featured reading, writing, and coloring sessions designed to develop basic literacy skills while providing a fun and meaningful learning experience. Educational books and learning materials were also distributed to encourage continuous learning beyond the activity.
This initiative was made possible through the support and collaboration of the Sangguniang Kabataan of Pacol headed by SK Chairwoman Sary Diaz together with SK Committee Chair on Education Hon. Jericho Abias, Hon. Katlene Ann Paola Largo (SK Councilor assigned to Zone 6), and SK Administrator Alyssa Macabuhay. Their guidance, support, and supervision greatly contributed to the successful implementation of the program.
The SK Pacol Scholars extend their sincere appreciation to all SK Pacol Scholars Officers headed by their President Jetross Kevan Basa who initiated, planned, and facilitated this community service activity.
Special thanks are extended to the Zone 6 Youth Organization headed by Ms. Ara Joy Gaor, for preparing the snacks for the children. Appreciation is also given to Lein Naag Cuizon, for assisting in the coordination of participants and supporting the smooth conduct of the outreach program.
We likewise express our heartfelt gratitude to Lola Rosie, a resident of Sitio Gilid, for generously allowing the use of her place as the venue for the activity. Her kindness and hospitality provided a welcoming space for the children and volunteers throughout the program.
Most importantly, we thank the parents and guardians who accompanied and encouraged their children to participate. Their support and trust played an important role in the success of the activity.
The success of the Sitio Gilid Literacy Outreach Program reflects the power of collaboration, volunteerism, and a shared commitment to education. Through collective effort and community service, we continue to inspire young minds, strengthen community bonds, and create opportunities for children to learn, grow, and dream of a brighter future.
