In observance of the Holy Week, the DOST-Bicol Regional Office and all its Provincial Science and Technology Offices (PSTOs) will implement a Work-From-Home (WFH) arrangement on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Consequently, our physical offices will be closed in the afternoon and on Thursday, April 2, 2026.

Regular office operations will resume on Monday, April 6, 2026.

Pinagtibay ngayong ika-23 ng Marso 2026 ang mas pinaigting na kolaborasyon para sa implementasyon ng Project SARAi (Smarter Approaches to Reinvigorate Agriculture as an Industry in the Philippines) sa Camarines Sur sa pamamagitan ng isang Ceremonial Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing na ginanap sa Regent Hotel, Naga City.

Nilagdaan ang kasunduan upang higit pang pagtibayin ang pagpapatupad ng Project SARAi sa mga lokal na pamahalaan ng Naga City, Buhi, Sipocot, San Jose Partido, Libmanan, at Pasacao, bilang bahagi ng patuloy na pagsisikap na maisulong ang paggamit ng science-based at data-driven na teknolohiya sa agrikultura. Sa pamamagitan ng proyekto, inaasahang mapapalakas ang kakayahan ng mga magsasaka at LGUs sa crop monitoring, climate-informed decision making, at pagpapataas ng farm productivity, na magreresulta sa mas episyenteng produksyon at mas matatag na kabuhayan sa mga komunidad.

Ipinapakita ng ceremonial signing ang patuloy na pagpapalalim ng ugnayan ng DOST at mga LGUs sa pagsusulong ng siyensa at teknolohiya tungo sa pag-unlad ng sektor ng agrikultura sa Camarines Sur.

Tumanggap ng pondo mula sa DOST Bicol si Ms. Merly Praxides ng Iriga City, Camarines Sur para sa proyektong “Grassroots Technopreneurship: Enhancing Production and Market Readiness of Linangta Pili Pulp Chips by Lysians Food Products” sa ilalim ng Grassroots Innovation for Inclusive Development (GRIND) Program.

Isinagawa ang fund release ngayong ika-19 ng Marso 2026 sa event na “Advancing Innovation Through Collaboration: GRIND Milestones, Innovator Testimony, and Inter-Agency MOU Ceremonial” na ginanap sa Legazpi City, Albay. Sa tulong ng proyekto, inaasahang mapapalakas ang kapasidad sa produksyon, mapapabuti ang kalidad ng produkto, at mapapalawak ang merkado ng Linangta Pili Pulp Chips—na magbubukas ng mas maraming oportunidad sa kabuhayan para sa komunidad.

Ipinapakita ng inisyatibong ito ang konkretong epekto ng patuloy na suporta ng DOST sa grassroots innovation at technopreneurship—kung saan ang mga lokal na ideya ay nagiging susi sa mas inklusibo at sustenableng pag-unlad ng mga MSMEs sa rehiyon.

Mas pinalawak ang akses ng mga mag-aaral sa kaalaman sa agham at teknolohiya sa Camarines Sur International School, Inc. – Sipocot sa pamamagitan ng pagdadala ng Science and Technology Academic Research-Based Openly Operated Kiosks (STARBOOKS) ng DOST-Bicol, sa pamamagitan ng DOST Camarines Sur. Sa tulong ng offline digital library na ito, nagkakaroon ng mas madaling access ang mga g**o at mag-aaral sa malawak na koleksiyon ng mga resources sa Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) na makikita sa anyong teksto, audio, at video.

Nagbigay si Engr. Licelle M. Evangelista, SRS I, ng pangkalahatang pagpapakilala tungkol sa STARBOOKS, habang pinangunahan naman ni Mr. John Nebrej N. Rempis, PTAide III, ang isang interaktibong hands-on na sesyon upang aktuwal na maipakita sa mga g**o at mag-aaral kung paano gamitin at tuklasin ang sistema.

Samantala, ang computer unit na ginamit para sa STARBOOKS ay donasyon ng Quipper Philippines Inc., na nagbigay ng mahalagang suporta upang higit pang mapalawak ang akses ng mga mag-aaral sa mga digital na sanggunian sa agham at teknolohiya—isang hakbang tungo sa patuloy na pagsusulong ng para sa bawat mag-aaral na Bikolano.

Matagumpay na isinagawa ang paglagda sa Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) para sa proyektong “Grassroots Technopreneurship: Enhancing Production and Market Readiness of Linangta Pili Pulp Chips by Lysians Food Products” sa ilalim ng DOST GRIND Program.

Layunin ng inisyatibong ito na suportahan ang 𝗟𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 mula sa Iriga City. Sa pamamagitan ng ₱90,000 na tulong-pinansyal mula sa DOST Region V at pakikipagtulungan ng LGU Iriga sa pamumuno ni Hon. Rex Oliva, makakabili ang innovator ng mga makabago at standard na kagamitan. Inaasahang mapalalawak nito ang kanilang produksyon habang tinitiyak ang mataas na antas ng food safety at kalidad.

In compliance with Memorandum Circular No. 114 from the Office of the President, DOST-Bicol and its Provincial Science and Technology Offices (PSTOs) will implement a 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿-𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝟬𝟵 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲. This transition supports national energy conservation efforts while ensuring the continued delivery of science and technology services.

Mas napalakas ang kakayahan ng 60 kababaihan mula sa Camarines Sur matapos makilahok sa Skills Training on Meat Processing noong 3–4 Marso 2026 sa Iriga City at Bato, Camarines Sur. Nagbigay ang pagsasanay ng dagdag na oportunidad para sa posibleng pagkakakitaan at pagpapabuti ng kanilang kabuhayan.

Itinuro sa mga kalahok ang wastong paggawa ng tocino, skinless longganisa, at burger patty, kasama ang mahahalagang kaalaman sa food safety at tamang kalinisan. Nagkaroon din ng aktuwal na product preparation upang masig**o ang praktikal na aplikasyon ng kanilang natutunan.

Ang training ay inorganisa ng Philippine National Railways bilang bahagi ng kanilang Livelihood Training Program kaugnay ng National Women’s Month upang higit pang palakasin ang kakayahan ng kababaihan sa komunidad.
