🎨🌈 "MAGKOLOR KITA!" 🌈🎨
Coloring Contest for Educare Children

The 9th Sangguniang Barangay of Pacol, in coordination with the Barangay Nutrition Committee and in cooperation with the Educare Centers, successfully conducted the "MAGKOLOR KITA!" Coloring Contest as part of the Nutrition Month Celebration 2026.

Our young learners showcased their creativity, imagination, and artistic talents through colorful masterpieces inspired by this year's Nutrition Month theme, "Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan." The activity encouraged children to express the importance of proper nutrition and environmental care while enjoying a fun and educational experience.

Congratulations to all our participants from the Educare Centers! Your enthusiasm and creativity made the event truly memorable. Thank you to our barangay officials, teachers, parents, volunteers, and everyone who contributed to the success of this meaningful activity.

As part of the Nutrition Month Celebration 2026 and "MAGKOLOR KITA!" Coloring Contest, the Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) also conducted a Child Protection Information and Awareness Campaign led by the BCPC Desk Officer, Mr. Francis B. Tolosa.

During the event, informational flyers were distributed to parents, guardians, and community members to increase awareness of the rights of every child and the importance of protecting children from all forms of abuse, violence, neglect, exploitation, bullying, online abuse, and other situations that may place them at risk. The campaign also emphasized the shared responsibility of parents, families, schools, and the community in ensuring that every child grows up in a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment.

The distributed materials contained important information about child protection laws, children's rights, preventive measures, and practical guidance on recognizing and responding to concerns affecting children. Parents and guardians were encouraged to be vigilant, maintain open communication with their children, and immediately report any incident that may endanger a child's welfare.

To further strengthen community preparedness, the flyers also included important emergency hotline numbers and contact information of the appropriate authorities and barangay offices where child-related concerns and emergencies may be reported. This initiative aims to ensure that every family knows where to seek immediate assistance whenever a child is in danger or in need of protection.

Through this awareness campaign, the BCPC of Barangay Pacol reaffirms its commitment to promoting and protecting the rights and welfare of every child. Beyond celebrating Nutrition Month, the activity also served as an opportunity to educate families, strengthen community awareness, and encourage everyone to actively participate in creating a child-friendly, safe, and responsive community.

The 9th Sangguniang Barangay of Pacol would like to express its deepest gratitude to everyone who made our Nutrition Month Celebration 2026 with the theme "Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan" and the "MAGKOLOR KITA!" Coloring Contest a meaningful and successful event.

This celebration would not have been possible without the collective effort, dedication, and cooperation of the people who continuously support programs that promote the health, education, creativity, and overall well-being of our children.

DAY 3 OF 3 | CULMINATION OF THE ROLL-OUT WORKSHOP ON THE UPDATING OF THE CBJIP AND TURNOVER OF THE HANDBOOK "A CAR AND CICL-RESPONSIVE COMMUNITY" | BATCH 2

The Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) of Barangay Pacol proudly completed the 3-Day Roll-Out Workshop on the Updating of the Comprehensive Barangay Juvenile Intervention Program (CBJIP) and the Turnover of the Handbook, "A CAR and CICL-Responsive Community," conducted by the Naga City Children's Office at the Naga City Civic Center.

On the final day, participants from the barangays of Carolina, Pacol, Panicuason, Mabolo, and Peñafrancia finalized and presented their updated Comprehensive Barangay Juvenile Intervention Programs (CBJIPs), reflecting the knowledge, skills, and best practices gained throughout the three-day workshop. The presentations highlighted each barangay's commitment to implementing responsive, sustainable, and community-based interventions for Children at Risk (CAR) and Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL).

The workshop concluded with an Awarding and Closing Ceremony, where participants received their Certificates of Participation in recognition of their active involvement, dedication, and commitment to strengthening child protection and juvenile intervention initiatives at the barangay level.

This milestone marks another step toward building stronger partnerships among local government units, child protection advocates, and community stakeholders in creating safe, inclusive, and child-friendly communities where every child is respected, protected, nurtured, and empowered.

The BCPC of Barangay Pacol extends its sincere gratitude to the Naga City Children's Office, the resource speakers, facilitators, organizers, and fellow participants for the valuable learning experience and unwavering commitment to promoting the rights and welfare of every child.

The Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) of Barangay Pacol successfully participated in Day 2 of the 3-Day Roll-Out Workshop on the Updating of the Comprehensive Barangay Juvenile Intervention Program (CBJIP) and the Turnover of the Handbook, "A CAR and CICL-Responsive Community," organized by the Naga City Children's Office at the Naga City Civic Center.

Building on the learnings from the first day, participants from the barangays of Carolina, Pacol, Panicuason, Mabolo, and Peñafrancia actively took part in workshops and collaborative discussions aimed at enhancing their capacity to develop responsive and sustainable juvenile intervention programs.

The second day focused on the review and updating of the Comprehensive Barangay Juvenile Intervention Program (CBJIP), including the identification of priority issues affecting children and youth, analysis of available data, setting of goals and objectives, formulation of intervention strategies, and preparation of implementation plans. Participants also shared best practices and experiences from their respective barangays, fostering collaboration and the exchange of practical solutions to common challenges.

The sessions emphasized the importance of evidence-based planning, inter-agency coordination, and active community participation in promoting the welfare of Children at Risk (CAR) and Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL). Participants were encouraged to strengthen partnerships with schools, parents, youth organizations, law enforcement agencies, social workers, and other stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of child protection programs.

Through active participation and meaningful collaboration, the five barangays continue to demonstrate their commitment to creating safer, more inclusive, and child-friendly communities where every child is protected, guided, and empowered to reach their full potential.

As the workshop enters its final day, participants look forward to completing their updated CBJIPs and strengthening their commitment to advancing child protection and juvenile justice at the barangay level.

The Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) of Barangay Pacol participated in Day 1 of the 3-Day Roll-Out Workshop on the Updating of the Comprehensive Barangay Juvenile Intervention Program (CBJIP) and the Turnover of the Handbook, "A CAR and CICL-Responsive Community," organized by the Naga City Children's Office at the Naga City Civic Center.

This workshop gathered Batch 2 participants from the barangays of Carolina, Pacol, Panicuason, Mabolo, and Peñafrancia to strengthen their capacity in implementing effective child protection and juvenile intervention programs at the barangay level.

The activity aims to update the Comprehensive Barangay Juvenile Intervention Program (CBJIP) to ensure that barangay intervention strategies remain relevant, responsive, and aligned with existing child protection laws, policies, and best practices. It also marks the official turnover of the handbook "A CAR and CICL-Responsive Community," which serves as a practical guide for barangays in addressing the needs of Children at Risk (CAR) and Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL) through preventive, restorative, and community-based approaches.

During the first day, participants actively engaged in discussions on child protection, juvenile justice, early intervention, diversion programs, referral mechanisms, and the roles and responsibilities of the BCPC and other barangay stakeholders in safeguarding children's rights and welfare. The sessions also emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts among local government units, schools, law enforcement agencies, social workers, health providers, and community organizations in building a child-friendly and CAR- and CICL-responsive community.

The participation of the five barangays reflects a shared commitment to strengthening community-based child protection systems and ensuring that every child receives appropriate care, guidance, and opportunities for positive development.

As the workshop continues over the next two days, participants will further enhance their knowledge and skills, update their respective CBJIPs, and formulate strategies that will help create safer, more inclusive, and responsive communities for all children.

Year 3 of Batang Kalasag 2026

2-Day Training on Emergency Response and Disaster Preparedness
On May 25–26, 2026, the Year 3 Batang Kalasag Training on Emergency Response and Disaster Preparedness was successfully conducted at the Metro Naga Sports Complex, Pacol, Naga City.

The activity gathered children aged 10–15 years old from the 27 barangays of Naga City, providing them with valuable knowledge and practical skills in disaster preparedness, emergency response, and community safety.
During the first day, participants learned basic first aid and emergency response techniques, including the proper application of bandages, basic wound care, safe handling of injured persons, familiarization with ambulance operations, and fundamental rescue procedures during emergencies and disasters.

On the second day, participants underwent Water Rescue Training, where they learned water safety awareness, proper rescue techniques, the use of life-saving equipment, and the importance of remaining calm and alert during water-related emergencies.

This meaningful activity was conducted in partnership with the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), the Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC), and the Naga City Children's Federation, demonstrating a shared commitment to empowering young people with life-saving skills and disaster preparedness knowledge.

Through interactive discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on activities, the participants developed confidence, leadership, and resilience, helping prepare them to become active contributors to safer and more disaster-ready communities.
Together, we are building a generation of informed, prepared, and resilient young leaders through Batang Kalasag 2026.
