The celebration of Linggo ng Kabataan (LNK) 2026 continues to demonstrate the energy, creativity, leadership, and commitment of the youth in building stronger and more vibrant communities.
On August 21, 2026 (Ninoy Aquino Day), the Youth and Sports Development Office (YASDO), headed by Youth Development Officer I Patrick P. Sollorano visited and witnessed various LNK activities organized by different Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Councils across the municipality.
The visit was more than a simple participation in the celebration. It was an opportunity to connect with our young leaders, recognize their efforts, listen to their experiences, and witness their meaningful contributions to their respective communities.
From sports and recreational activities to youth-centered programs and community initiatives, the LNK celebrations reflected the dedication of our SK officials and youth volunteers in creating opportunities where young people can participate, lead, collaborate, and make a difference.
These initiatives embody an important principle in youth development: the youth should not merely be beneficiaries of government programsβthey should be empowered partners in designing and implementing them.
The presence of YASDO in these celebrations also reinforces the Office's commitment to providing technical assistance, coordination, support, and guidance to our SK Councils as they carry out programs that respond to the needs and aspirations of the youth.
To all Sangguniang Kabataan officials, youth volunteers, participants, and community partnersβthank you for your dedication and active participation in Linggo ng Kabataan 2026. Your efforts remind us that meaningful youth development begins when young people are given the opportunity to lead, the confidence to participate, and the platform to serve.
As we celebrate Linggo ng Kabataan, may we continue to nurture a generation that is engaged in governance, committed to community service, passionate about development, and ready to take responsibility for the future they want to build. Because when the youth are empowered, communities become stronger. And when young people are given the opportunity to lead, the future becomes brighter.
