Natonin National High School conducted its Parentsโ€™ Day celebration on March 26, 2025, at the Tonglayan Open Gym with the theme โ€œEndless Gratitude: Beloved Guiding Parents.โ€

The activity was attended by parents, Grade 10 students, and school personnel. It featured a series of presentations highlighting the role of parents in the lives of learners.

Ptr. Fausto Layog delivered the Word of God, emphasizing the importance of obeying and honoring parents. An intermission number by Grade 10 students presented a skit about a young woman who, despite being raised with care and love, was influenced by negative peers and worldly practices. The story showed her parentsโ€™ persistence in praying for her until she eventually returned to them through Godโ€™s guidance.

Another touching part of the celebration was the tribute song dedicated to parents and teachers performed by the students. This was followed by the giving of tribute mugs as tokens of appreciation. Students were also given the opportunity to personally express their gratitude, thanking their parents for their sacrifices, guidance, and unwavering support.

Parent representatives also delivered short messages, sharing their reflections and appreciation for the schoolโ€™s efforts in strengthening family values among students.

The program formally concluded with closing remarks from School Head Ceriaco D. Laguiwed Jr., who acknowledged the collective efforts of the organizers, teachers, and other school personnels in making the event a success.

After the formal program, attendees shared a meal together called โ€œLanlannos,โ€ a Balangao term that means eating together, further strengthening the spirit of unity and community among families.

The Parentsโ€™ Day celebration served as a reminder of the vital role of parents in shaping the lives of their children and the importance of maintaining strong, faith-centered family relationships.

Students and staff of Natonin National High School participated in the First Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill on March 12, 2026, at exactly 3:30 p.m. at the school grounds.

The activity aimed to strengthen disaster preparedness and ensure that members of the school community know the proper actions to take in the event of an earthquake.

All Students, teachers, and non-teaching personnel of the school actively took part in the drill, practicing the standard safety procedure known as โ€œDuck, Cover, and Hold Techniqueโ€ The drill simulated an earthquake scenario to help participants respond calmly and correctly during an actual emergency.

After the drill, Grace Binwag, an English teacher reminded students of the importance of applying the duck, cover, and hold technique whenever an earthquake occurs. She emphasized that knowing and practicing the correct safety measures can significantly reduce injuries during disasters.

Meanwhile, MAPEH teacher Mitz Pisong reiterated essential reminders on earthquake safety.
โ€œDuring an earthquake, stay calm, immediately perform the duck, cover, and hold position, and avoid running or panicking to prevent accidents,โ€ Pisong said as he explained the proper steps to follow during seismic events.

School nurse Annie Grail Baggay also encouraged everyone to treat earthquake drills seriously as they serve as preparation for real emergencies. She emphasized that regular drills help develop discipline, awareness, and readiness among students and school personnel.

The participation of NNHS in the nationwide earthquake drill highlights the schoolโ€™s commitment to promoting safety awareness and disaster preparedness within the school community.
