The Biliran Provincial DOH Office extended technical assistance to the Universal Health Care (UHC) Provincial Core Team during their Local Health Systems Maturity Level (LHS-ML) Consultative Meeting held on March 3, 2025. During the session, the year-end LHS-ML evaluation results were presented, highlighting key progress, existing gaps, and challenges in the local health system. The Core Team engaged in in-depth discussions to identify strategic actions and formulate a roadmap for continuous improvement, ensuring the successful implementation of Universal Health Care in the province.

This celebration highlights the invaluable contributions of women across all sectors and reinforces the commitment to gender equality, empowerment, and inclusive development in the country. We support all initiatives aimed to amplify the voices of women, recognize their roles in nation-building, and advocate for policies that foster a healthier, more equitable future for all. Together, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of women in shaping a progressive and inclusive Bagong Pilipinas.

In support of the Department of Health’s goal to promote healthy living through physical activity, the Biliran Provincial DOH Office, in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Culaba, successfully conducted a people-centered event on February 27, 2025, titled "Sayaw Galaw Para sa Healthy Pilipinas: Barangay Zumba." This initiative aimed to encourage communities to take an active role in safeguarding their heart health.

Held in observance of Heart Month, the event reinforced the importance of regular physical activity in preventing cardiovascular diseases. A highlight of the program was the Barangay Zumba Contest, which brought together members of the Hypertension and Diabetes Clubs from across the municipality. The competition not only fostered community engagement but also underscored the vital role of exercise in maintaining overall health and well-being.

The event also saw enthusiastic participation from barangay council representatives, Kagawads on Health, primary health care workers, and barangay health workers, further strengthening the collaborative effort to promote a heart-healthy lifestyle within the community.
