After careful deliberation, the Selection Committee has officially named the awardees for the First Edition of the Student Leadership Awardees.

Each recipient was chosen based on their accomplishments, contributions and exemplary leadership to the student body.

As they conclude their journey as students, we also recognize their time spent in service through the student council.

It must be noted that, the Leadership Service Award is presented to graduating former and incumbent council officers in recognition of their contributions, initiatives, and commitment during their term in office.

𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝗲...

Following the conclusion of the nomination period last May 15, the officially submitted nominees for the First Edition of the Student Leadership Awardees are now set to be recognized.

Moreover, the Selection Committee will carefully evaluate each nominee based on their accomplishments, contributions, leadership, and service to the student body to ensure a fair, transparent, and merit based selection process.

The official results and awardees will be announced on May 20 shortly after the deliberation.

📢 CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FOR THE FIRST EDITION OF STUDENT LEADERSHIP AWARDEES

The Student Council formally announces the opening of nominations for the First Edition Student Leadership Awardees. This recognition is dedicated to honoring exemplary student leaders who have demonstrated outstanding commitment, integrity, and service to the student body.

This call is open to all graduating, former, and incumbent SSC officers.

We assure all applicants of a fair, transparent, and merit-based selection process to uphold the integrity of this recognition.

📌 Important Dates:
• Deadline for Submission of Applications: May 15
• Posting of Official Nominees: May 18
• Announcement of Awardees: May 20

📍 Availability of Forms:
The Personal Information Sheet , Nomination Form, Evaluation Form, and Endorsement Letter may be secured at the Office of the Student Regent.

We encourage all SSCs to take part in this meaningful recognition of leadership excellence.

𝗕𝗶𝗣𝗦𝗨 𝗦𝗦𝗖 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗚𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗱 𝗣𝗔𝗣𝗦𝗔𝗦 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟴 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿

In recognition of student councils that implemented programs addressing institutional needs, BiPSU Supreme Student Council (SSC) received the Excellence in Academic Enrichment Award on May 7 during the Gawad PAPSAS held at Summit Hotel in Tacloban City.

The award was presented to SSC-SOE for its initiative titled “Progression Program and How to Survive Engineering,” whose entry in the said category stood out among 37 participating schools in Region 8.

Notably, the recognition forms part of the first PAPSAS Student Council Excellence Awards in the Philippines, making Region 8 the pioneering chapter to introduce the national recognition for outstanding student council initiatives.

Meanwhile, the entire BiPSU delegation was also recognized as one of the Top Three institutions that sent the largest number of delegates and was further commended for being among the most enthusiastic participants throughout the event.

By far, the recognition marks the university’s first award from PAPSAS.

𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗜𝗡 | 𝗩𝗣 𝗭𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘀 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗨𝗖𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗔𝗣𝗦𝗔𝗦 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗩𝗜𝗜𝗜 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿

In a proud stride for BiPSU, Dr. Maribel Zipagan, the university’s newly installed Vice President for Students Internationalization and Strategic Partnership (SISP), was formally inducted today, March 5, as Vice President for State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) of the PAPSAS Region VIII Chapter during the opening program held at Summit Hotel Tacloban.

As Vice President for SUCs, Dr. Zipagan will help steer collaborative programs, strengthen student affairs initiatives, and represent the collective interests of SUCs in advancing responsive and student-centered services across the region.

At the forefront of student development advocacy, Philippine Association of Practitioners of Student Affairs and Services (PAPSAS) is recognized across the Philippines as a key professional organization that brings together student affairs leaders to promote excellence and holistic student development in higher education.

It is worth noting that, Dr. Erwin Salvatierra, BiPSU Vice President for Academic Affairs and Lifelong Learning, previously served in the same role within PAPSAS Region VIII, marking a back-to-back leadership milestone for BiPSU in the organization.

𝗕𝗶𝗣𝗦𝗨 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗦𝗔𝗦 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁

Earlier today, officers from the FSSC and the Supreme Student Councils (SSC) of the BiPSU Main and Biliran campuses safely arrived at Summit Hotel in Tacloban City for the 3rd Regional Student Leadership Summit and Conference, which will run from March 5 to 7.

Anchored on the theme “Rise and Revolutionize,” three day event focuses on sharpening leadership skills among student leaders while strengthening the role of Student Affairs and Services (SAS) practitioners and advisers in guiding them toward proactive leadership.

Meanwhile, the BiPSU delegation is composed of two FSSC representatives, seven SSC officers from Naval Campus, and two SSC officers from Biliran Campus.

Accompanying the delegation are advisers Dr. Arcenal, Mr. Cortes, Mr. Almazan, and Dr. Maribel Zipagan, Vice President for Students Internationalization and Strategic Partnership (SISP), who will guide the student leaders throughout the regional gathering.
