Kaya mo ba yan, ‘Tol? May baon bang pagbabago si Sec. Tolentino?

TOLENTINO FLAGS SHORTAGE OF DOLE FIELD INSPECTORS
SPECIAL ON SATURDAY: Labor Secretary Francis Tolentino has revealed a critical shortage of active labor inspectors at the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), disclosing that of 1,210 inspectors across 17 regional offices, only 477 are actually deployed in the field to cover establishments nationwide.
In an interview on DZRH News, Tolentino said the problem was thrown into sharp relief following the deadly collapse of a nine-story building under construction in Angeles City, Pampanga, where he learned that only 38 labor inspector teams were covering 7,000 establishments in Region 3 alone.
As an immediate response, Tolentino said he has tapped TESDA to provide 200 young graduates to be trained as labor inspectors, while committing to seek additional funding from Congress during the upcoming budget hearings.
