The DA-SAAD Program Phase 2 convened layer chicken egg producers, local government officials, and partner agencies from the municipalities of Olutanga, Mabuhay, and Talusan on May 28, 2026, in Olutanga, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The convergence meeting gathered six SAAD-supported farmer associations, DSWD-SLP beneficiary groups, and a local private poultry operator to discuss market challenges affecting local egg producers and identify strategies to sustain the island's growing egg industry.

Among the key agreements reached were the proposed federation of local egg producers to strengthen market coordination and the exploration of policy measures that prioritize locally produced eggs. Stakeholders also emphasized the importance of strong collaboration among farmer groups, LGUs, and government agencies to support local livelihoods, improve market access, and ensure the long-term sustainability of poultry enterprises on Olutanga Island. #

#𝗦𝗔𝗔𝗗𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 | Aron mas mapalig-on ang pagdumala sa ilang layer chicken enterprise ug maandam sa umaabot nga pagpalapad sa proyekto, nakatambong ang mga miyembro sa Makugihon Mag-uuma sa Poblacion Godod sa Specialized Training on Good Animal Husbandry Practices (GAHP) for Layer Chicken Egg Production niadtong Mayo 28, 2026.

Gipahigayon ang pagbansay sa pagpanguna ni DA-SAAD Livestock Technician Mr. Mark Joseph Lorete, diin gihatagan og dugang kahibalo ang mga miyembro sa husto nga pag-atiman, pagpakaon, ug pagdumala sa mga manok aron mapadayon ang maayong produksyon sa itlog. Nagtambong usab sa kalihokan si Godod Municipal Agriculturist Mr. Elias Nayal isip suporta sa programa.

Ang Makugihon Mag-uuma sa Poblacion Godod usa sa mga benepisyaryo sa DA-SAAD Program Phase 2 sukad 2023. Sa pagkakaron, nagdumala na sila og 37 ka modules sa Ready-to-Lay (RTL) chickens ug gilauman nga makadawat pa og dugang 10 ka modules karong tuiga aron mas mapalambo pa ang ilang produksyon ug panginabuhian.

Pinaagi sa padayon nga pagbansay ug suporta gikan sa programa, gipalig-on ang kahibalo ug kahandam sa asosasyon alang sa mas malungtarong layer chicken egg production enterprise. #

#𝗦𝗔𝗔𝗗𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 | Gikan Mayo 19–22, 2026, sabay-sabay nga gipahigayon sa DA-SAAD Program Phase 2 ang nagkadaiyang training activities alang sa 10 ka Farmers Associations (FAs) sa Zamboanga del Norte aron mapalambo ang ilang kahibalo sa livestock ug crop production.

Ang training sa Good Animal Husbandry Practices (GAHP) alang sa Layer Chicken Egg Production gipahigayon para sa San Roque KALIPI FA sa Kalawit, Tinglan FA sa Mutia, ug 7M La Victoria FA sa La Libertad.

Samtang ang New Calamba FA sa Kalawit nakadawat og training sa GAHP alang sa Native Chicken Production ug Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) alang sa White Corn Production. Ang Rambon FA sa Godod nakatambong sa training sa GAHP alang sa Goat Production ug GAP alang sa Corn Production, samtang ang Dinasan FA sa Jose Dalman nakadawat og training sa GAHP alang sa Cattle Production ug GAP alang sa White Corn Production.

Ang San Jose FA ug Totongon FA sa Mutia nakakompleto usab sa training sa GAHP alang sa Carabao Production ug GAP alang sa White Corn Production. Dugang pa niini, ang Bunawan FA sa Godod ug Tabon Integrated FA sa Jose Dalman nakatambong sa training sa GAP alang sa Corn Production, Harvesting, ug Post-Harvest Handling. #

Before livelihood interventions reach our beneficiaries, SAAD first ensures that all goods and services meet quality standards.

Under Project Implementation, one important internal activity is Inspection. After procurement, all interventions intended for our beneficiaries are carefully checked by authorized inspectors from the DA Regional Field Offices (RFOs), together with representatives from the Food Production and Livelihood (FPL) cluster or other SAAD clusters when needed.

This process helps ensure that our interventions are in good condition, complete, and ready for delivery. Inspections are also properly documented through written reports and documentation such as photos or videos, including timelines from inspection up to delivery.

Through this step, SAAD Program upholds accountability and quality assurance – making sure our beneficiaries receive interventions that are ready to support their livelihood projects effectively.
