The Local Government Unit of Numancia, through the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA), in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), successfully facilitated the First Quarter Payout of the Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizen beneficiaries today, March 12, 2026 at the Numancia Sports and Cultural Center, Numancia, Aklan.

This program serves as continued support to our senior citizens, recognizing their role in our community and ensuring their welfare through the provision of social pension assistance.

𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬’ 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤! 👵👴

Ngayong 2026, ipinagdiriwang natin ang ika-30 taon ng “Grandparents’ Week.” Ginugunita ang Linggo ng mga Lolo at Lola tuwing Marso 11–18, alinsunod sa Proklamasyon Blg. 757, bilang pagkilala at pasasalamat sa mahalagang papel na ginagampanan ng ating mga nakatatanda sa pamilya at lipunan.

Ang pagdiriwang na ito ay nagbibigay-pugay sa kanilang karunungan, pagmamahal, at patuloy na paggabay sa mga susunod na henerasyon.

Kinikilala rin natin ang lahat ng uri ng lolo at lola—mga biological, great grandparents, mga tumatayong lolo at lola sa ating buhay, at maging ang mga wala na sa ating piling—na patuloy pa ring nagbigay ng pagmamahal at inspirasyon sa atin.

Tunay ngang walang papantay sa ating mga lolo at lola! 💛

Nilinaw ng National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) na walang ibinibigay na ATM card sa mga senior citizens para magamit sa pagkuha ng anumang ayuda, cash gift, o pensyon.

Kasunod ito ng kumakalat na video online ng isang content creator na sinasabing aprubado na umano ang ATM card sa bawat older person sa buong bansa.

Nais linawin ng Komisyon na ang bank transfer na sinisimulang isagawa sa mga piling rehiyon ay isa lamang opsyon ng mga senior citizens para makuha ang kanilang P10K o P100K cash gift sa ilalim ng Expanded Centenarians Act (ECA).

Layon ng bank transfer system na mapabilis ang pag-claim ng mga regalo para sa mga tumuntong sa milestone ages na 80, 85, 90, 95, at 100.

Muling nagbabala ang NCSC laban sa mga kumakalat na maling impormasyon, online man o hindi, tungkol sa mga programa at benepisyo para sa mga senior citizens.

Magtungo lamang sa opisyal na social media pages ng NCSC para sa updates at direktang makipag-ugnayan sa opisina ng Komisyon kung may katanungan tungkol sa mga programa ng pamahalaan.

Honoring a lifetime of strength, wisdom, and service, the Local Government of Numancia, through the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) in partnership with NCSC RO-6 and DSWD, successfully conducted the Expanded Centenarian Payout last December 19, 2025, at the Senior Citizens Center, Numancia, Aklan.

A total of 43 senior citizens aged 80, 85, 90, and 95 received financial assistance under the Expanded Centenarian Program—a sincere gesture of gratitude for their invaluable contributions to the community and nation.

More than assistance, this initiative is a tribute to lives well lived and legacies that continue to inspire generations.

Honoring Longevity and Legacy: Expanded Centenarian Payout for Numancia Beneficiaries

As the weeklong Elderly Filipino Week 2025 Celebration came to a close, the Local Government of Numancia, through the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) and in partnership with the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) RO-6, conducted the Expanded Centenarian Payout for qualified beneficiaries from the municipality.

This meaningful activity served as a heartfelt recognition of our elders who reached 80, 85, 90, and 95 years old in life. It honored their strength, resilience, and lifelong contributions to their families, communities, and to the nation. Through the Expanded Centenarian Program of the NCSC, 22 senior citizens received financial assistance as a token of appreciation for the Municipality of Numancia.

The payout was attended by the OSCA Head and Staff, Presidents of the Federation of Senior Citizens Affairs of Numancia, and the NCSC team, who personally extended the assistance to the beneficiaries.

This initiative goes beyond financial support—it is a sincere expression of respect and gratitude for the elderly who continue to inspire generations with their wisdom, faith, and love. To our senior citizens, especially our centenarians and near-centenarians, your lives remind us that aging is a gift and a celebration of purpose and legacy.

Elderly Filipino Week 2025: The Grand Coronation Night of Lola of the Night 2025

A week filled with faith, energy, and celebration came to a grand and heartwarming close as we held the Coronation Night of Lola of the Night 2025—the highlight of this year’s Elderly Filipino Week Celebration here in Numancia.

Held at the Numancia Sports and Cultural Center, the evening was truly one to remember. The venue came alive with music, applause, and excitement as families, friends, and supporters gathered to witness our stunning Lolas take the stage with confidence, beauty, and grace. Each step, each smile, and each twirl of their gown told stories of strength, resilience, and the timeless charm that define the Filipino elderly.

Guided by this year’s theme, “Embracing Age: Living a Life with Dignity and Purpose,” the coronation celebrated not only beauty but also the inspiring lives and enduring contributions of our senior citizens. Each participant proudly represented her barangay, showing that age is never a barrier to confidence, joy, and purpose.

The event was graced by the presence of our beloved Mayor, Hon. Rogelio “Ogie” Enero II, whose encouraging message reaffirmed the local government’s steadfast support for the welfare, empowerment, and happiness of our elderly citizens. His words served as a reminder that the wisdom of our seniors continues to guide the growth of our communities and the next generations.

As the night unfolded, laughter and cheers filled the air. The audience applauded not only the winners but every Lola who bravely stepped on stage—radiating elegance, humor, and heart. It was more than a competition; it was a tribute to the spirit of womanhood, aging gracefully, and living with pride and purpose.

When the crowns were finally placed, emotions overflowed. Smiles and tears mingled as our newly crowned Lola of the Night 2025 stood tall—a symbol of grace, dignity, and the unbreakable spirit of our elders.

Day 2 of Elderly Filipino Week 2025: Zumba for Health and Happiness!

Our second day of celebration was filled with energy, laughter, and fun as our beloved senior citizens joined the Zumba for Health and Wellness activity! Held at the Numancia Sports and Cultural Center, the event brought together participants from all 17 barangays—dancing, smiling, and celebrating life with every move.

This activity highlights the importance of staying active and healthy, proving once again that age is never a limit to movement, joy, and connection. Our seniors showed their vibrant spirit and reminded us that a healthy body and a happy heart truly keep us young at any age!
