“Philippine Army: Victory Favors the prepared.”
The ASEAN Armies Rifles Meet (AARM) hosted by the Singapore Army from 18 to 28 November 2025, with the theme "Building Regional Cooperation in Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief," has concluded.
The Philippine Army Shooting Contingent (PASCON) emerged victorious, bringing home Gold Medals in both the Pistol Men’s category—Sgt Janhendrick S Alvez (OS) PA—and the Pistol Women’s category—Sgt Margie P Corpuz (FS) PA. In the Carbine Individual Category, our team achieved a clean sweep, securing Gold (Sgt Joker M So-ang (AGS) PA), Silver (TSg Rodelio D Bagoy (Inf) PA), and Bronze (MSg Angelo E Bonagua (OS) PA). Additionally, the PASCON further garnered 4 Gold, 6 Silver, and 6 Bronze medals in the Team Match 1 (ASEAN Mixed Team) events across the Rifle, Carbine, Machine Gun, and Pistol categories.
Further, PASCON participated in Team Match 2 (ASEAN Mixed Team), where participants from all 10 ASEAN nations were grouped into mixed teams for a purposeful friendly competition. In this event, the PASCON earned an additional 4 Gold, 6 Silver, and 4 Bronze medals across the 5 categories.
Remarkably, these humble achievements would not have been possible without the unwavering support of Headquarters Philippine Army, through the various General Support Staff, and the Training Command, through its dedicated staff and subordinate units. Your unwavering support has significantly enhanced the quality of preparation, training, and overall readiness of the Shooting Team.
Significantly, the reliability and superb performance of the equipment of PASCON played a crucial role in enabling our shooters to train effectively and compete at the international level. The Marksmanship Training Center (MTC), Training Support Group (TSG), Training Command (TRACOM), Philippine Army, extends its deepest appreciation to the United Defense Manufacturing Corporation (UDMC) for its invaluable support through the provision of competition rifles and other logistical assistance. Likewise, we express our profound gratitude to Armscor Global Defense Incorporated for enhancing our competition and training pistols and for supplying the necessary ammunition components.
Furthermore, we extend our sincere appreciation to the Philippine Sports Commission for reinforcing our training preparations through physical and psychological interventions rendered by selected members of the Medical Scientific Athletic Services. These evidence-based interventions significantly contributed to the competition's favorable outcomes.
This success stands as a testament not only to the dedication of Filipino soldiers but also to the strong partnerships that continue to fortify our institution. We look forward to further collaboration as we strengthen our capabilities and advance our shared goals for national security and development.
Once again, thank you very much for your prayers and outstanding support! Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!
