Bumotong pabor ang lahat ng 55 miyembro ng House justice committee sa pag-apruba ng committee report at Articles of Impeachment laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte nitong Lunes, May 4, 2026.

“Let it be placed on the record, that 55 out of 55 justice members physically present manifested their support to the approval of the committee report to the attached resolutions setting forth the Articles of Impeachment as amended, the chair therefore declares the motion unanimously approved,” saad ni justice committee chair Gerville Luistro.

CONG. BARZAGA NAGTATAKA KUNG BAKIT MAY OPENING PRAYER ANG CONGRESS

Nagbigay ng kontrobersyal na pahayag si Kiko Barzaga kaugnay sa tradisyon ng opening prayer sa Kongreso, kung saan kinuwestiyon niya ang kahalagahan nito sa gitna ng umano’y katiwalian sa hanay ng mga mambabatas.

Ayon sa kanya, tila nawawalan ng saysay ang panalangin kung ang mismong institusyon ay binabatikos dahil sa mga isyung tulad ng korapsyon at kawalan ng integridad.

Agad namang umani ng iba’t ibang reaksyon mula sa publiko at kapwa opisyal ang naturang pahayag. May ilan na sumang-ayon sa kanyang punto, habang ang iba naman ay nanindigan na mahalaga pa rin ang panalangin bilang gabay sa paglilingkod.

Sa kabila nito, muling nabuksan ang diskusyon hinggil sa moralidad, pananagutan, at tunay na layunin ng mga tradisyon sa loob ng pamahalaan.

‘1 MILLION PERCENT HINDI NILA MAPABAGSAK SI VP SARA’

Iginiit ni Toby Tiangco na malabong magtagumpay ang anumang hakbang para mapatalsik si Sara Duterte, na sinabing “one million percent” na hindi ito mangyayari.

Ayon sa kanya, may ilang mambabatas umano ang nangangamba sa posibilidad na maupo si Duterte sa mas mataas na posisyon, dahil maaari silang managot sa hinaharap.

Nilinaw rin ni Tiangco na hindi siya kumikiling sa alinmang political bloc, at iginiit na ang kanyang paninindigan ay nakabatay sa kung ano ang sa tingin niya ay tama.

Sa kabila nito, patuloy ang mainit na diskusyon sa Kongreso at sa publiko hinggil sa isyu, habang wala pang pinal na direksyon ang mga usaping may kaugnayan sa impeachment.

PADILLA: SAFE ANG PILIPINAS SA PANAHON NI DUTERTE

Robin Padilla voiced support for former president Rodrigo Duterte, highlighting what he described as improvements in public safety during the latter’s administration.

Padilla made the statement on March 14, 2026 where he defended Duterte’s legacy amid the issues the former leader is facing before the International Criminal Court.

“Ibato nyo na lahat ng isyu kay Digong pero pagdating sa pagiging safe ng Pilipinas noong panahon nya, walang kokontra. Maihahanay ang Pilipinas noon na kabilang sa mga ligtas na bansa.”

The senator said that despite criticisms directed at Duterte, he believes the country experienced a sense of safety during the former president’s term.

Padilla has repeatedly expressed loyalty to Duterte, saying he does not mind being labeled as overly supportive of the former leader. His remarks came days after the first anniversary of Duterte’s detention in The Hague on March 11, 2026, as the former president continues to face proceedings before the ICC.
