Sangguniang Bayan of Odiongan
The 25th Regular Session of the Sangguniang Bayan of Odiongan was held on June 29, 2026, presided over by Odiongan Vice Mayor Butchoy Arevalo.
During the Privilege Hour, Hon. Kaila A. Yap delivered a meaningful address emphasizing that education remains one of the most important investments for the people. She highlighted the financial challenges faced by many deserving students, which often hinder them from completing their education.
In response, she introduced a proposed measure entitled:
โAn Ordinance Institutionalizing the Municipal Scholarship of Odiongan.โ
The proposed ordinance aims to ensure that scholarship assistance becomes permanent, transparent, and accessible to qualified students, regardless of changes in administration. She underscored that the initiative is not only about financial aid but also about creating opportunities, empowering the youth, and investing in the future of the municipality.
The Sangguniang Bayan deliberated on and approved the following resolutions:
๐ Resolution requesting the Department of Agriculture โ Regional Field Office IV-B (MIMAROPA), through Regional Executive Director Atty. Christopher R. Baรฑas, for the funding and construction of a Kadiwa ng Pangulo โBagsakanโ Center in Odiongan, including the provision of a service transportation vehicle.

๐ Resolution authorizing the Local Chief Executive to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with qualified student scholars of Odiongan, with the conformity of their respective parents/guardians, for the grant of scholarship assistance.
