𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙥𝙪𝙧𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙚: 𝘼𝙡𝙪𝙢𝙣𝙞 𝙀𝙭𝙚𝘾𝙤𝙢 𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙖𝙩𝙝, 𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙩𝙝 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙨

The newly elected Executive Committee of the Regional Science High School (RSHS) III Alumni Association was officially installed into governance on August 17, 2026. Administered inside the executive chambers of Olongapo City Hall by Olongapo City Mayor Atty. Rolen C. Paulino Jr., a distinguished RSHS III alumnus himself, the solemn Oath of Office marked the formal beginning of the officers' term. Despite severe monsoon weather disruptions on campus, the ceremony established the leadership team's firm pledge to carry out their responsibilities with integrity, dedication, and accountability.

Led by Association President Atty. Cicero L. Sta. Maria, the new Executive Committee is moving forward immediately with key operational initiatives, starting with an academic courtesy call with School Head Dr. Soledad E. Pozon. This meeting aims to align strategic efforts with the school administration, secure operational clearances, and activate a localized archive office workspace. Under this framework, future fundraising surpluses will directly support student scholarship portfolios, educational advancement, community welfare programs, and physical campus modernization grants—providing vital technical and academic resources without straining public school operating funds.

Looking ahead, the Alumni Association is prioritizing transparent governance, professional internal audit controls, and sustainable development for the school community. Central to these immediate efforts is the launch of a comprehensive baseline digital directory network for regular and honorary members later this month. As Atty. Sta. Maria emphasized, the association returns to campus not merely for ceremonial reunions, but to actively build, protect, and scale the structural and academic capabilities of RSHS III for current students, faculty, and future graduates.

Regional Science High School III once again takes pride in the excellence of its student journalists as its two official school publications, The Eagle and Ang Sanghaya, earn recognition during the First Quarter Implementation of Project Campus News Force – 1st Edition.

The Eagle, RSHS III’s English school publication, secured 1st Place in the Secondary Level – News Publication Category, emerging as the top-performing publication in the category.

Meanwhile, Ang Sanghaya, the school’s Filipino publication, earned 2nd Place in the News Broadcast Category, showcasing the students’ creativity, communication skills, and commitment to delivering relevant and meaningful news.

The awards were presented during the Management Committee (MANCOM) Meeting on Friday, August 14, 2026, recognizing the outstanding work and dedication of the school’s campus journalists, publication advisers, and the entire team behind these publications.

Congratulations to the campus journalists of The Eagle and Ang Sanghaya, together with the support of the administration, stakeholders, and teachers! May these achievements inspire you to continue pursuing truth, excellence, and responsible journalism.

Now in its second year, Project ALPAS is an online journalism workshop that brings together experienced campus journalists and media practitioners who will share their knowledge, expertise, and experiences to help aspiring journalists develop, refine, and strengthen their journalistic skills in preparation for the School Level Press Conference (SLPC).

• Two-Phase Program: Project ALPAS Year 2 consists of Pre-Registration and a Peer-Based Online Workshop.

• Category Limit: Participants may register for a maximum of two (2) categories. Those who wish to participate in group categories must first register under an individual category.

• Mandatory Attendance and Output Submission: Attendance during the assigned online workshop and submission of the required output are strictly mandatory with zero exceptions. Failure to comply with either requirement will result in automatic disqualification from the School Level Press Conference (SLPC). This policy applies to all participants, including members of The Eagle × Ang Sanghaya Editorial Board.

• Output Submission: All required outputs must be submitted in hard copy within three (3) working days after the workshop (e.g., outputs from a Saturday session must be submitted by Tuesday). Category-specific submission guidelines will be provided after registration.

• SLPC Qualification: Participation in the School Level Press Conference (SLPC) is conditional upon the successful completion of Project ALPAS. Participants who fail to attend their assigned workshop or complete the required outputs will not be endorsed to participate in the SLPC.

• Further Announcements: Detailed mechanics and category-specific guidelines will be released after the pre-registration period.
