IN PHOTOS | Personnel of the Olongapo City Fire Station, spearheaded by FSSUPT BERNARD T ROSETE, DSC, Acting Regional Director, BFP Region 3, under the supervision of FSSUPT JEANNETTE D JUSAYAN, DSC, Provincial Fire Marshal – Zambales, and with the guidance of FSUPT EDUARDO A LOON, Olongapo City Fire Marshal, conducted a flushing operation at Rizal Triangle Covered Court and Mabayunan Senior High School to clear mud and silt left by the recent flooding brought by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

The operation was carried out to help restore cleanliness, accessibility, and safe conditions in the affected areas following the flood.

Ang Kawanihan ng Pamatay Sunog ay nakikiisa sa buong sambayanan sa paggunita ng National Heroes Day, bilang pagpupugay sa mga kilala at hindi kilalang bayaning nag-alay ng kanilang buhay, tapang, at sakripisyo para sa kalayaan, kapayapaan, at kinabukasan ng ating bayan.

Sa bawat panahon, ang diwa ng kabayanihan ay patuloy na nabubuhay—sa paglilingkod nang buong puso, sa pagtulong sa kapwa, at sa pagtataguyod ng kaligtasan at kapakanan ng bawat Pilipino. Nawa’y magsilbing inspirasyon ang kanilang halimbawa upang patuloy nating isabuhay ang tunay na diwa ng kabayanihan, malasakit, at pagmamahal sa bayan.

Ang National Heroes Day ay ipinagdiriwang tuwing huling Lunes ng Agosto bilang isang regular na holiday alinsunod sa Republic Act No. 9492, na nagtakda sa huling Lunes ng Agosto bilang National Heroes Day.

Sa mensahe ni BFP Officer-in-Charge, FCSUPT Wilberto Rico Neil A Kwan Tiu, binigyang-diin niya na ang kabayanihan ay hindi lamang nasusukat sa mga dakilang sakripisyo, kundi higit sa lahat sa tapat, marangal, at walang pag-iimbot na paglilingkod sa bayan at sa kapwa. Aniya, ang bawat kawani ng BFP ay may pagkakataong maging bayani sa araw-araw—sa bawat buhay na sinasagip, bawat panganib na hinaharap, at bawat Pilipinong pinaglilingkuran. Nawa’y magsilbing inspirasyon ang mga bayani ng ating kasaysayan upang patuloy nating gampanan ang ating tungkulin nang may tapang, malasakit, at paninindigan.

Saludo kami sa lahat ng bayani—kahapon, ngayon, at sa bawat Pilipinong patuloy na naglilingkod para sa bayan.

IN PHOTOS | CONTINUOUS HABAGAT RESPONSE OPERATION

Personnel of the Olongapo City Fire Station, spearheaded by FSSUPT BERNARD T ROSETE, DSC, Acting Regional Director, BFP Region 3, under the supervision of FSSUPT JEANNETTE D JUSAYAN, DSC, Provincial Fire Marshal – Zambales, and with the guidance of FSUPT EDUARDO A LOON, Olongapo City Fire Marshal, continuously conducted rescue and evacuation operations for families residing in low-lying and flood-prone areas of Barangay Sta. Rita, Olongapo City, amid the effects of the Southwest Monsoon (HABAGAT).

In coordination with the Sta. Rita Fire Rescue and Disaster Response Unit, responders assisted affected residents in safely evacuating from areas threatened by continuously rising floodwaters.

A total of thirteen (13) families, composed of thirty-five (35) individuals, were safely rescued and evacuated from affected areas along Sta. Rita Road, Clark Street, and Sampaloc Compound. The affected families were assisted and transported to Sta. Rita Elementary School, which served as the designated evacuation area.

The Olongapo City Fire Station remains on continuous monitoring and response operations to ensure the safety and protection of residents affected by the ongoing HABAGAT.

IN FRAME | 28 AUG 2026 - Personnel of Olongapo City Fire Station in coordination with Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Office - Olongapo City and Barangay Sta.Rita Fire Rescue and Disaster Response Unit , carefully conducted the rescue and evacuation of a family residing beside a creek at Cristobal Extension, Barangay Sta. Rita, Olongapo City.

The operation was carried out with caution due to the presence of water current in the creek, ensuring the safety of both the family and rescuers throughout the operation.

Spearheaded by FSSUPT BERNARD T ROSETE, DSC - Acting Regional Director, BFP R3, under the supervision of FSSUPT JEANNETTE D JUSAYAN, DSC - Provincial Fire Marshal - Zambales, and with the guidance of FSUPT EDUARDO A LOON Olongapo City Fire Marshal, residents living near waterways are continuesly reminded to remain vigilant and exercise caution during periods of heavy rainfall and flooding.
