Noong nagkaroon ng Talakayan with Sanggunian sa Brgy. Gordon Heights, isa sa mga naging concern ng sector ng Solo Parents ay ang declining compliance ng ilang business establishments sa nararapat na discount at privileges ng mga Solo Parents.
Bilang Presiding Officer ng Sangguniang Panlungsod, nararapat lamang, through our oversight function, na i-assure na na-iimplement na naaayon sa Ordinansa.
Kaya naman tayo ay nagsulat last week at nakipagcoordinate sa proper offices and authorities regarding this.

1. Sa JLGMH at ibang pribadong hospital โ 10% discount on health services and PF on out-patient basis
2. Ang Gordon College ay magbibigay ng prayoridad sa admission ng solo parent o ng kanyang/mga anak sa kanyang/kanilang nais na kurso upon meeting the qualifications set by the administration.
3. Private Schools โ 10% discount on tuition fees
4. Priority sa mga working solo parent thru flexible working schedules, telecommuting, parental leave, child-minding center, at breastfeeding sa lugar ng trabaho
5. Priority on services provided by various National and Local Government Offices and Agencies
6. Grocery stores and pharmacies (basic commodities and medicines once a month) - 10% discount and from the value-added tax on purchase of basic commodities with a maximum purchase of Php10,000.00 such as bread, sardines, tuna and other canned goods, milk, coffee, sugar, cooking oil, salt, bagoong, vinegar, patis, toyo, rice (except rice sold & related by the NFA), sanitary napkins, feminine wash, geriatric diapers, bottled water, toothpaste, toothbrush, LPG, body soap, laundry soaps, alcohol, cotton, baby's milk, baby's food and micronutrient supplement, baby's sanitary diapers, and medicines, vitamins, vaccines, and other medical supplements with a maximum purchase of Php5,000.00 once a month shall be granted for the exclusive use or enjoyment of the solo parents or their children or babies from 0 to 6 years old.
7. Restaurants and bus companies (selected buses) โ 10% discount

a. 5% deduction on declared gross sales extended to solo parents ranging from โฑ200,000 - โฑ1,000,000
b. Upon submission of periodic report, CSWDO will recommend to the BPLO the grant of priority lane to the establishments for the renewal of its locally issued permit for its business operation.
