LOOK | PSA marks 10 years of ISO-certified excellence in public service delivery

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) marks its 10th year of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 Quality Management System certification, celebrating a decade of consistently meeting international quality management standards and reinforcing its commitment to excellent public service delivery.

The central and field offices of the PSA were recently awarded their respective Certificates of Registration for achieving and maintaining full compliance with the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System standard following an audit conducted by Worldwide Quality Assurance (WQA) Philippines from 23 March to 22 April 2026.

The certification affirms that the agency has met ISO-published international standards for delivering high-quality products and services, meeting customer expectations, and driving continuous improvement.

READ | PSA Releases the Philippine Standard Industrial Classification Revision 5

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) announces the release of the Philippine Standard Industrial Classification (PSIC) Revision 5, also referred to as the 2026 PSIC, the country’s updated official classification system for economic activities.

Approved and adopted by the PSA Board on 21 May 2026 through PSA Board Resolution No. 09, Series of 2026, entitled “Approving and Adopting the Philippine Standard Industrial Classification Revision 5,” the PSIC Revision 5 provides an updated framework for classifying establishments and enterprises according to their principal economic activities.

Developed in accordance with the International Standard Industrial Classification of All Economic Activities (ISIC) Revision 5, the PSIC Revision 5 ensures international comparability while reflecting the structure and emerging activities of the Philippine economy.

The PSA calls all government agencies and instrumentalities, local government units, private organizations, academic institutions, researchers, and other stakeholders to adopt and use the PSIC Revision 5 in their statistical, administrative, and regulatory activities. Its adoption will help strengthen the production of coherent, reliable, and comparable economic statistics across the country.

LOOK | Ube (Purple Yam) Production in the Philippines (April to June 2026)

Ube production from April to June 2026 reached 1,681.67 metric tons, the highest output recorded for the same quarter since 2010. This marks a 22.5% increase from the 1,372.91 metric tons recorded in the same quarter of 2025.

Among all regions, Cagayan Valley emerged as the country’s top producer, contributing 463.90 metric tons, or 27.6% of the total ube production during the quarter.

Ang pinakamalaking bahagi ng pamumuhunan ng dayuhan sa ikalawang quarter ng taon ay nagmula sa 🇳🇱 The Netherlands na nagtala ng PhP 50.74 bilyon o 44.0% ng kabuuang pamumuhunan ng dayuhan.

Sumunod naman rito ay ang 🇩🇪 Germany, na nagtala ng PhP 18.05 bilyon o 15.7%.

Samantala, nagtala naman ng kabuuang PhP 46.41 bilyon o 40.3% ang iba pang mga bansa.

TINGNAN | Top 3 Rehiyon sa Pamumuhunan ng mga Dayuhan (2nd Quarter 2026)

Ang Cordillera Administrative Region ang nagtala ng pinakamalaking bahagi ng pamumuhunan ng dayuhan na umabot sa PhP 55.74 bilyon o katumbas ng 48.4% ng kabuuang pamumuhunan ng dayuhan sa Pilipinas sa ikalawang quarter ng 2026.

Sumunod naman ang Central Luzon at CALABARZON na nagtala ng PhP 36.81 bilyon (32.0%) at PhP 14.75 bilyon (12.8%), ayon sa pagkakabanggit.

TINGNAN | Inaasahang Trabaho Mula sa Kabuuang Pamumuhunan sa Pilipinas (2nd Quarter 2026)

Sa ikalawang quarter ng 2026, ang kabuuang pamumuhunan sa Pilipinas ay inaasahang lilikha ng 32,167 trabaho para sa mga Pilipino. Ito ay mas mababa sa 41,203 trabahong nalikha noong kaparehong quarter ng nakaraang taon.

Samantala, sa kabuuang trabahong malilikha ng mga pamumuhunan sa Pilipinas sa ikalawang quarter ng 2026, 27,266 trabaho ang mula sa mga dayuhang pamumuhunan.

TINGNAN | Pamumuhunan sa Renewable Energy at iba pang mga Industriya

Simula 2024, ang electricity, gas, steam, at air conditioning supply ang nangunguna sa mga industriyang pinupuhunanan sa bansa. Sa ikalawang quarter ng 2026, umabot ito sa PhP 321.06 bilyon o 59.3% ng kabuuang pamumuhunan.
