OLONGAPO CITY β€” Barangay West Bajac-Bajac, through its Barangay Rescue and Disaster Response Unit (WBB BRADRU), emerged as the overall champion in the 6th Olongapo City Fire Olympics held on March 18, 2026.

The annual event gathered participating barangays to compete in various fire and rescue challenges, testing their skills in emergency response, coordination, speed, and teamwork. Fire Olympics activities are typically conducted to strengthen preparedness and ensure that local responders are equipped to handle real-life fire incidents and disasters.

WBB BRADRU showcased strong performance throughout the competition, demonstrating discipline and technical skills that led them to secure the top spot among the competing teams.

The Fire Olympics also served as a platform to enhance cooperation among barangay responders, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and local disaster risk reduction units, reinforcing a unified approach to public safety.

Local officials and organizers emphasized that beyond competition, the activity highlights the importance of continuous training and readiness, especially in responding to emergencies that may affect communities.

Barangay West Bajac-Bajac officials expressed gratitude to all members and supporters, recognizing the team’s effort and dedication in achieving the championship.

The event forms part of ongoing initiatives to promote fire safety awareness and disaster preparedness in Olongapo City, encouraging communities to stay vigilant and prepared at all times.
