The Local Government Unit of Ormoc, through the collaborative efforts of the City Social Welfare Department (CSWD) and the Integrated Population and Gender Development Office (IPGDO), conducted the Women’s Congress 2025 on Monday, March 10, 2025, at the Ormoc City Superdome.

The event highlighted discussions on women’s role in society and reproductive health, empowering participants with knowledge and awareness on these significant topics.

Attendees include City Mayor Lucy Torres Gomez, SP Member Caren Torres Rama, Atty. Kim Cadayona, representatives from the Commission on Population and Development, Women’s Kalipe, Barangay Population Volunteers, SPAMC Beneficiaries, Daycare Workers, LGU department heads and employees.

From February 22 to 25, 1986, millions of brave men and women stood shoulder to shoulder along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) in a peaceful uprising that changed the course of our nation's history.

As we commemorate this significant event, let us reflect on the sacrifices made and the lessons learned. The EDSA anniversary is not just a historical milestone; it is a testament to the power of collective action and the unwavering determination of Filipinos to fight for freedom and democracy.
