BJMP REGION VIII REAFFIRMS ZERO-TOLERANCE POLICY ON ILLEGAL DRUGS AND MISCONDUCT
The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Regional Office VIII, under the leadership of JSSUPT RILL F SONON, DSC, JD, Regional Director, strongly reaffirms its commitment to integrity, discipline, accountability, and the rule of law following the recent arrest of a personnel assigned at the Ormoc City Jail – Male Dormitory, who was allegedly found in possession of a self-sealed plastic sachet containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be methamphetamine hydrochloride, or “shabu,” weighing approximately 2.34 grams.
The suspected illegal drugs were recovered during the incident, and the matter is now subject to the appropriate legal and administrative processes.
The BJMP Regional Office VIII emphasizes that there is no room for illegal drugs or any unlawful activity within its ranks. Any personnel found to have violated the law or existing rules and regulations shall be held accountable, regardless of rank or position.
“We will not tolerate any act that compromises the integrity of the Bureau. Our personnel are expected to uphold the law, not violate it. Those found responsible shall face the appropriate legal and administrative consequences.”
The BJMP Regional Office VIII assures the public that the incident will not be tolerated or concealed and that all necessary actions will be undertaken in accordance with law, with full respect for due process and a fair, impartial investigation.
