CSWD-Livelihood Section and PESO convened the target livelihood association for the livelihood grant.
Ms. Maribel Villaflor Gucela opened the activity with her welcome remarks. She emphasized the roles of the members of the livelihood associations in the sustainability of their livelihood project.
Konsehal Quilang , Chairman of the Committee on Employment, Livelihood, and Manpower Development, was present at the activity. He informed the participants that the activity was just a part of the preparatory phase of the livelihood program implementation and that there were still more processes that they needed to undergo. He also highlighted the significance of capability-building activities and skills training. He encouraged the livelihood associations to engage in producing local products that would contribute to the tourism of the city.
Ms. Vilma Mendoza, CSWD Admin Officer, facilitated the expectation setting workshop.
Ms. Alexandra Valenciano, CSWD-Livelihood Section Head, facilitated the needs assessment workshop. She informed the participants that the result of the needs assessment conducted would be the basis for the capability-building activities and skills training activities to be provided to the livelihood association members.
Ms. Josephine B. Hermosilla, PESO Manager, ended the activity with her closing message. She reminded the associations that sustainability of the livelihood should be the priority. Associations should also screen their members to ensure the value of cooperation. She also discussed about the value chain and its contribution to the inclusive development of a community.
