Mula sa kaibuturan ng Region VIII, patuloy na nagpupunyagi ang 8th Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army sa layuning magsanay, maghulma, at mag-akay ng ating mga kababayan tungo sa matapat na paglilingkod sa bayan.

Hindi lamang tayo naghahanda para sa pagtatanggol ng bansa; bumubuo tayo ng isang pamayanang may malasakit, disiplina, at kahandaan sa anumang hamon ng panahon.

Sa pagdiriwang ng ikaapatnapu’t tatlo na anibersaryo ng Reserve Command, Philippine Army, muli naming pinagtitibay ang aming panata:

The Sergeant Major of the 8th Regional Community Defense Group (8RCDG), SMS Raul J. Daliendo (Inf) PA, participated in the RESCOM, PA Senior NCOs Forum 2026, held from August 27 to 29, 2026, at Camp Riego de Dios, Tanza, Cavite, with regional Sergeant Majors joining via Video Teleconferencing (VTC).

Conducted in line with the 43rd Anniversary of the Reserve Command, Philippine Army, and themed “RESCOM, PA NCOs, Kaagapay sa Pagtataguyod at Pangangalaga ng Laang-Kawal,” the forum focused on NCO empowerment, discipline and law and order, professional development, and the welfare of enlisted personnel.

The three-day forum featured lectures and discussions on coaching and mentoring, financial literacy, military problem-solving, administrative investigations, and other leadership and administrative concerns.

Through continuous professional development and active participation in command-wide engagements, 8RCDG strengthens its NCO leadership toward a more capable, disciplined, and responsive Reserve Force.

HIGHLIGHTS | 802CDC STRENGTHENS READY RESERVE FORCE IN QUINAPONDAN

QUINAPONDAN, Eastern Samar — The 802nd Community Defense Center (802CDC), 8RCDG, RCPA participated in the CY 2026 3rd Quarterly Joint Meeting of the MPOC and other local councils on 29 August 2026 at the Quinapondan Municipal Hall.

MAJ BETHUEL N. BARBER (INF) PA, Director, highlighted the importance of properly accounting, organizing, and integrating qualified Standby Reservists into the Ready Reserve Force to ensure a capable and responsive reserve component.

The meeting also strengthened inter-agency coordination on peace and order, public safety, disaster preparedness, and community concerns, reaffirming the Philippine Army’s commitment to whole-of-nation efforts and strong local partnerships.

LOOK | 8RCDG Builds Stronger Reserve Force Through BCMT Class 01-2026

CAMP JORGE DOWNES, Ormoc City — August 24, 2026 — The 8th Regional Community Defense Group (8RCDG), Reserve Command, Philippine Army (RCPA) formally opened the Basic Citizen Military Training (BCMT) Class 01-2026, reinforcing its commitment to developing a capable, disciplined, and responsive Reserve Force.

Lt Colonel Edson M. Abello (Inf) PA, Executive Officer/Operations Officer of 8RCDG, warmly welcomed the participants and introduced the keynote speaker, Colonel Ramonito C. Taboy FS (GSC) PA, Group Commander, 8RCDG. The activity was also attended by the Directors of the Community Defense Centers (CDCs) under the group.

In his message, Col. Taboy emphasized the importance of serving the people and securing the land, highlighting the vital role of citizen-volunteers in supporting national defense and community service. He also encouraged the participants to embrace discipline, teamwork, leadership, and commitment throughout the training.

The BCMT Class 01-2026 aims to equip citizen-volunteers with essential military knowledge, skills, and values, preparing them to contribute effectively to the Reserve Force and respond to national emergencies and other contingencies.

The activity underscores 8RCDG’s continuing commitment to building a capable, prepared, and mobilizable Reserve Force in support of the Philippine Army’s mission.
