The Regional Highway Patrol Unit 8 ( RHPU 8 ) acknowledges the social media post alleging that personnel assigned to the Highway Patrol Group Office in Maulong, Catbalogan City, Samar were involved in an alleged act of extortion or bribery.
The Unit takes all complaints involving its personnel seriously.
Upon learning of the allegation, RHPU 8 immediately initiated the appropriate action. The concerned Team Leader has been directed to submit a duly notarized written explanation, while an investigation is underway in accordance with existing Philippine National Police (PNP) policies and procedures.
RHPU 8 emphasizes that the allegation remains subject to verification. Any administrative or disciplinary action will be based solely on the evidence gathered and the findings of the investigation, with due process accorded to all parties concerned.
The Unit encourages anyone with relevant information regarding the incident to coordinate with the appropriate office to assist in the investigation.
RHPU 8 remains committed to upholding integrity, professionalism, accountability, and transparency, and assures the public that any proven misconduct will be addressed in accordance with the law and established PNP regulations.
