Ormoc City Anti - Smoking Program City Ordinance No. 047 series of 2017 known as " COMPHREHENSIVE ANTI-SMOKING ORDINANCE OF ORMOC CITY".

It is the policy of the City of Ormoc to promote the health and welfare of its citizens.

In continuous support on the CSWD- SDECS Drug Awareness Symposium 2025. The Smoking Task Force conducted a lecture on Smoking Cessation emphasizing the salient feature of Ormoc City Anti-Smoking Ordinance, the Ill-Effects of Smoking and the benefits of quitting.

It was held at Brgy. Macabug covered court. The Brgy. Officials headed by PB Bernardino Camus were also present.

"School Advocacy on Smoking Cessation and Anti-Illegal Drugs at Mahayag Elementary School"

Resource speakers were Ms. Jethra B. Germata and Ms. Jasmine B. Apay emphasized the ill effects of smoking and illegal drugs. Also, highlighted the reasons why people indulge in vices and informed on the city ordinance and RA9165 Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act.

We thanked the school faculty and personnel, especially the BKD coordinator Ma'am Clarissa Sepe and Ma'am Althea Santillan, led by their Teacher-in-Charge Ma'am Lilibeth Codog, for the support and assistance provided. Also to the pupils for their active participation.

"School Advocacy on Smoking Cessation and Anti-Illegal Drugs at T.Aviles Elementary School"

Resource speakers are Ms. Katrina May A. Soberano and Ms. Mary B. Regino as they emphasized the aim to raise awareness among pupils about the harmful effects of smoking and illegal drug use, and to encourage them to adopt a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to school faculty and personnel especially to the school principal Mrs. Perlita Bacala for providing assistance, and to students for the active participation.

This activity is part of our continuing commitment to promote public health, strengthen community awareness that ensures a smoke-free and drug-free community.

The activity was enriched through informative discussion on:

SMOKING CESSATION - presented by Ms. Mary B. Regino, LPT
DRUG AWARENESS AND PREVENTION - presented by Ms. Gevalyn V. Desiongco, RN

Also, highlighted the laws and ordinance that govern the implementation of the program and emphasized the harmful effects of those substance/vices.

Our sincere appreciation is extended to the School Head, Mrs. Lorelie C. Rabaya, for the warm welcome and support, as well as to the advisers and faculty members who assisted throughout the activity:
