DISQUALIFICATION CASE NGA GIPASAKA NI OÑATE BATOK RICHARD GOMEZ, GIBASURA!

ORMOC CITY — Gibasura sa Commission on Elections ang disqualification case nga gisang-at ni kanhi Palompon, Leyte Mayor Ramon Oñate batok kang Leyte 4th District Representative Richard Gomez.

Sa napulo ka pahina nga desisyon sa Comelec First Division, giingon sa komisyon nga walay gipakitang final conviction sa korte batok kang Gomez kalabot sa giingong election offense. Giklaro usab niini nga dili husto ang proseso nga gihimo sa pag-file sa disqualification petition.

Sumala sa resolusyon:

“WHEREFORE, the Commission (First Division) hereby RESOLVES to DISMISS the instant Petition for Disqualification filed by Petitioner Ramon C. Oñate against Respondent Richard ‘Goma’ Gomez in connection with his candidacy for Member, House of Representatives for the Fourth (4th) District of Leyte in the 2025 NLE.”

Nag-ugat ang kaso human gi-share ni Gomez ang usa ka Facebook Live sa programang “Krusada,” nga naglantad sa giingong iregularidad sa pagpili sa mga miyembro sa electoral board sa Palompon. Lakip sa mga alegasyon ang presensya sa mga ngalan sa mga patay nga anaa gihapon sa voter’s list.

Bisan pa niini, dunay pipila ka tao nga nangutana nganong si Oñate ang nagsang-at sa kaso bisan dili siya ang direktang naapektuhan.

Congrats Congressman Richard Gomez

Congratulations to our very own Congressman Richard Gomez for bagging the Silver Medal in the recently concluded Philippine National Shooting Association 2025 National Olympic Trap Championships held at the Bucor Shooting Range, Muntinlupa, from February 21–22, 2026.

After two (2) intense days of qualifying rounds, only shooters who hit over 100 targets advanced to the finals. In the championship round, finalists faced an additional 50 targets in a test of precision, focus, and consistency.

Congressman Richard, proudly representing Ormoc City, delivered an outstanding performance to secure the silver medal finish, narrowly trailing fellow Philippine shooter Hagen Topacio by just three targets.
