On May 6, 2026, the Ozamiz City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), in collaboration with the 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗶𝘀 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀, conducted a 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗶𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 for the dedicated officials and workers of Barangay Embargo.

The training empowered local officials to proactively prepare for hazards and act as effective first responders during emergencies in their barangay.

From April 6-8, 2026, LGU Ozamiz City headed by 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗮𝗺 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗚. 𝗙𝘂𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘀, through its Ozamiz City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), extended technical assistance to LGU Clarin. In partnership with the Office of Civil Defense-Region 10 (OCD-10), Ozamiz City sent a dedicated resource speaker to facilitate the 𝘽𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙘 𝙄𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙢 (𝘽𝙄𝘾𝙎) Training.

The BICS is a fundamental training designed to provide responders and local leaders with a standardized, on-scene emergency management concept. It ensures that during any disaster—big or small—different agencies can work together seamlessly using common terminology, clear hierarchies, and effective resource management.

By sharing expertise and fostering inter-local cooperation, we strengthen our collective ability to protect lives and properties across boundaries.

From April 14 to 17 of 2026, the proactive community of 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐠 stepped up to the challenge, completing an intensive 𝟰-𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴. This vital initiative was facilitated by the Ozamiz City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), with the expert support of the Coast Guard Sub-station Ozamiz, 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 of Coast Guard Station Misamis Occidental and the OzamizCity FireStation.

The training was a deep dive into life-saving skills, featuring hands-on lecture-demos on Basic Life Support (BLS), Basic First Aid, Fire Suppression, and Water Safety. Participants didn't just listen; they practiced under pressure, culminating in a high-stakes Multi-hazard Simulation Exercise that tested their readiness to act when seconds count.

Equipping our local leaders and responders with these tools ensures that when disaster strikes, Barangay Malaubang isn't just ready—it's resilient.

Together, we build a safer, more prepared and a more progressive community for everyone.

From April 6-8, 2026, LGU Ozamiz City, through the Ozamiz City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and in partnership with Civil Defense Northern Mindanao - Region X, extended vital technical assistance to LGU Sinacaban by deploying technical instructor to facilitate a comprehensive training on the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) held at La Elena Pension House in Jimenez, Misamis Occidental. This collaborative effort highlights our commitment in strenghtening partnership with other LDRRMOs in disaster preparedness.

The three-day intensive training provided participants with a deep dive into the EOC’s core functions: coordination, communication, and resource management. By mastering these protocols, participants of this training are now better equipped to manage complex emergencies with precision and speed, ensuring a unified response when it matters most.

Assisting and empowering fellow LGUs will create a safer, more prepared and more resilient Misamis Occidental.

Ang biktima nakaangkon og deformation sa wala nga tiil, nga posibleng adunay bali.

Gihatagan dayon og first aid pinaagi sa splint method aron ma-stabilize ang samad sa biktima ug gihatud sa Medina Hospital. Kini girespondihan sa Team 3 uban ni Rescue Jongskie.
