The Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao (CGDSEM) strongly advises the public to refrain from sharing unverified and misleading information circulating on social media regarding the Search and Rescue (SAR) operations for MBCA โ€œAMEJARA.โ€

CGDSEM has noted several social media posts containing inaccurate claims, speculative narratives, and unofficial reports that do not originate from legitimate authorities involved in the SAR efforts.

This false information may cause unnecessary alarm, confusion among the public, and distress to the families of the passengers and crew, and may potentially compromise the effectiveness and coordination of the ongoing SAR operations.

CGDSEM emphasizes that all official updates are released only through authorized Philippine Coast Guard channels. The public is urged to rely on verified information and avoid the spread of false reports.

CGDSEM remains committed to the continuous conduct of SAR operations and will provide updates as soon as verified information becomes available.
