To strengthen schoolsโ readiness and ensure a smooth opening of School Year 2026โ2027, the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Davao del Sur conducted key initiatives during the 2nd Quarter Expanded Division Management Committee Meeting attended by the Divisionโs top management officials, Public Schools District Supervisors, School Heads, and Division personnel.
One of the highlights of the activity was the awarding of the Certificate of Accreditation to Gov. Nonito D. Llanos Sr. National High School as an accredited TESDA Testing Center, marking a significant step in enhancing technical-vocational education opportunities for learners.
School heads also participated in a brief orientation on the Learning System Reform Policies to guide them on the Department of Educationโs new directions and strategies in improving the delivery of quality education.
As part of the Divisionโs preparations for the opening of classes, the 2026 Oplan Balik Eskwela and Stakeholders Convergence gathered representatives from the Local Government Units of Kiblawan, Padada, Bansalan, Magsaysay, and Malalag, together with partner agencies from the public and private sectors, to express their commitment in supporting schools across the Division.
Among the participating agencies were the Davao del Sur Police Provincial Office, Bureau of Fire Protection, Armed Forces of the Philippines through the 39IB-10ID, Social Security System, Department of Trade and Industry, Girl Scouts of the Philippines, and Boy Scouts of the Philippines Davao del Sur Council, alongside private sector partners including Kiblawan Multipurpose Cooperative, City Savings Bank, China Bank Savings, Tagum Cooperative, and San Miguel Foods Corporation.
The event also recognized outstanding schools through the awarding of plaques to Nestlรฉ Wellness Campus Winners. Davao del Sur School of Fisheries was recognized as the Regional Winner, while Sulop National High School, Tuban Elementary School, Matanao National High School, and Matanao Central Elementary School were honored as Division Winners.
The convergence also featured the signing of the Stakeholders Commitment Wall and the official launching of the 2026 Brigada Eskwela Davao del Sur Official Jingle composed and performed by teachers of Barayong National High School.
Through strengthened collaboration and stakeholder engagement, SDO Davao del Sur continues to ensure that schools are prepared for a safe, organized, and learner-centered opening of School Year 2026โ2027.
