Building Better Pathways to Employment: ZamboSur PESO Managers and Job Placement Officers Strengthen Public Employment Services in its 3rd Quarter Convergence
LABANGAN, Zamboanga del Sur - In line with the directives of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and the vision of the DOLE Secretary Francis N. Tolentino to strengthening labor market administration through collaborative, responsive, and people-centered employment services, the Zamboanga del Sur Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Managers and Job Placement Officers (JPOs) Association successfully conducted its 3rd Quarter Mobile Meeting cm National Skills Registration Program (NSRP) Provincial Assessment on July 30, 2026, at the Municipal Government Building in Labangan, this municipality.
Hosted by the Local Government Unit of Labangan PESO, the activity brought together 29 PESO Managers and staff, Job Placement Officers, and employment service personnel from the other local government units and partner institutions across the province. The quarterly convergence served as a venue to strengthen partnerships, assess program implementation, share best practices, and align initiatives to improve employment facilitation and labor market services.
Representing the Municipal Mayor John Raymon C. Yu, Vice Mayor Sete D. Balimbingan, Al-Hadj welcomed participants and expressed the municipality's gratitude for hosting the activity. Administrative Assistant Jeneza Mae Garig highlighted Labangan's HEART Agenda—Health, Education, Agriculture, Roads and Bridges, Tourism, and Security—as the municipality's framework for strengthening collaboration, promoting workforce development, and advancing inclusive and sustainable employment.
In her first Mobile Meeting with the province's PESO Managers and JPOs, DOLE Zamboanga del Sur Field Office Provincial Head, Aileen B. Mondejar, underscored that strong collaboration among DOLE, LGUs, PESOs, and JPOs is the cornerstone of responsive and effective public employment service delivery.
She emphasized that the National Skills Registration Program (NSRP) remains one of the vital pillars of labor market governance, as it provides an updated and reliable skills registry that enables evidence-based employment planning, efficient job matching, and proactive labor market interventions. She also reaffirmed DOLE's commitment to sustaining partnerships that expand access to quality employment opportunities and strengthen workforce development across Zamboanga del Sur.
The successful conduct of the activity reflects DOLE Region 9's steadfast commitment, under the leadership of Regional Director Albert E. Gutib, to empowering local employment service providers and advancing inclusive, accessible, and quality employment opportunities for every Zambosurian.
