ACCREDITED SENIOR CITIZENS ASSOCIATION JOINS BUSINESS WEEK!

Age is never a barrier to success!

NCSC Region IX proudly endorsed the San Carlos Senior Citizens Association and four (4) senior citizen-led MSMEsโ€”R&N, Mamabear, Altoberos, and the Thindegan Dlibon Subanen Associationโ€”to participate in this year's Business Week celebration.

Through this initiative, our senior citizens showcased their products, expanded their networks, and proved that entrepreneurship knows no age. Their creativity, dedication, and passion continue to inspire communities across Region IX.

Together with the Pagadian-ZDS Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation, Inc., NCSC Region IX remains committed to empowering older persons and creating opportunities for active and meaningful participation in nation-building.

NCSC REGION IX CONDUCTS DAY 1 OF FY 2026 MID-YEAR PREW

The National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) Region IX successfully concluded the first day of its FY 2026 Mid-Year Performance Review and Evaluation Workshop (PREW) on July 28, 2026.

The activity gathered NCSC Region IX personnel to review organizational accomplishments, assess key performance indicators, evaluate budget utilization, and discuss challenges and recommendations for improved service delivery. Program focal persons also presented their respective accomplishments, innovations, and targets for the remainder of the year.

Through the Mid-Year PREW, NCSC Region IX continues to uphold its commitment to performance excellence, accountability, and responsive public service in advancing the welfare and rights of senior citizens across the Zamboanga Peninsula.

NCSC REGION IX PARTICIPATES IN THE NATIONAL SENIOR CITIZENS SUMMIT 2026

The National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) Region IX proudly participated in the National Senior Citizens Summit 2026, held on July 22โ€“24, 2026. The three-day summit gathered selected participants from across the country, including Presidents of Senior Citizens Federations/Organizations, OSCA Heads, and Focal Persons from Municipal and City Social Welfare and Development Offices of selected LGUs.

The event also brought together all NCSC Regional Directors, key personnel from the Regional Offices, and the Commissioners of the National Commission of Senior Citizens. It was further honored by the presence of our Party-list Representatives in Congressโ€”Congresswoman Milagros Magsaysay of the United Senior Citizens Party-list and Congressman Rodolfo "Ompong" Ordanes of the Senior Citizens Party-listโ€”who reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the welfare, protection, and empowerment of Filipino senior citizens.

Age-Friendly Cities and Communities
NCSC Program Developments, Milestones, Thrusts, Priorities, and Policy Directions
The Philippine Plan of Action for Senior Citizens
Government Programs and Initiatives:
Health and Wellbeing

The event also featured breakout sessions on:

LGU Good Practices on Health and Wellbeing of Senior Citizens
Promoting the Silver Economy
Advancing Participation in Nation Building through Volunteerism
Addressing Violence Against Older Persons

The third day concluded with benchmarking visits to two exemplary initiatives:

The Senior Citizens Tour Guides of Intramuros
The Pasig City Magkoro Smart Facility for the Elderly

NCSC Region IX's participation in the summit reflects its continued commitment to supporting national initiatives, strengthening collaboration with stakeholders, and adopting innovative and evidence-based approaches that will further enhance programs, policies, and services for senior citizens throughout the Zamboanga Peninsula. The knowledge and best practices gained from the summit will contribute to the Region's ongoing efforts in promoting active ageing, inclusive development, and a better quality of life for all older persons.

Matagumpay na isinagawa noong ika-10 ng Hulyo 2026 ang Stakeholders Collaborative Meeting para sa launching at operationalization ng Senior Citizens Center o SCC sa Bayan ng Molave, Zamboanga del Sur.

Ginanap ang aktibidad sa Municipal Chamber Hall, Barangay Makuguihon, at dinaluhan ng tatlumpu't dalawang kinatawan mula sa iba't ibang National Government Agencies, Local Government Unit, Federation of Senior Citizens Associations of the Philippines o FSCAP, at iba pang partner organizations.

Nakiisa rin sa nasabing pagpupulong sina Mayor ng Molave at ang Bise Alkalde ng bayan, na kapwa nagpahayag ng kanilang suporta sa pagtatatag ng Senior Citizens Center para sa kapakanan ng mga nakatatandang mamamayan.

Sa pagpupulong, tinalakay ang mga layunin ng Senior Citizens Center alinsunod sa Republic Act No. 7876, kabilang ang pagbibigay ng mga programa at serbisyong magtataguyod sa kalusugan, kapakanan, at aktibong pakikilahok ng mga senior citizen sa komunidad.

Pinag-usapan din ng mga stakeholders ang kani-kanilang mga tungkulin, mga mekanismo ng referral, at mga estratehiya upang matiyak ang maayos at pangmatagalang operasyon ng nasabing pasilidad.

Sa huli, muling pinagtibay ng lahat ng kalahok ang kanilang pangako na magtulungan upang maisakatuparan ang Senior Citizens Center sa Molaveโ€”isang mahalagang hakbang tungo sa mas maayos na kalidad ng buhay para sa mga nakatatanda.
