NCSC REGION IX PARTICIPATES IN THE NATIONAL SENIOR CITIZENS SUMMIT 2026
The National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) Region IX proudly participated in the National Senior Citizens Summit 2026, held on July 22โ24, 2026. The three-day summit gathered selected participants from across the country, including Presidents of Senior Citizens Federations/Organizations, OSCA Heads, and Focal Persons from Municipal and City Social Welfare and Development Offices of selected LGUs.
The event also brought together all NCSC Regional Directors, key personnel from the Regional Offices, and the Commissioners of the National Commission of Senior Citizens. It was further honored by the presence of our Party-list Representatives in CongressโCongresswoman Milagros Magsaysay of the United Senior Citizens Party-list and Congressman Rodolfo "Ompong" Ordanes of the Senior Citizens Party-listโwho reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the welfare, protection, and empowerment of Filipino senior citizens.

Advancing Participation in Nation Building through Volunteerism
Addressing Violence Against Older Persons
The third day concluded with benchmarking visits to two exemplary initiatives:
The Senior Citizens Tour Guides of Intramuros
The Pasig City Magkoro Smart Facility for the Elderly
NCSC Region IX's participation in the summit reflects its continued commitment to supporting national initiatives, strengthening collaboration with stakeholders, and adopting innovative and evidence-based approaches that will further enhance programs, policies, and services for senior citizens throughout the Zamboanga Peninsula. The knowledge and best practices gained from the summit will contribute to the Region's ongoing efforts in promoting active ageing, inclusive development, and a better quality of life for all older persons.
