ALERT: The PHIVOLCS has issued a tsunami alert for coastal areas of Mindanao following a magnitude 7.0 earthquake with its epicenter located off the coast of Sarangani.

Residents living in coastal communities of Sarangani, Davao Occidental, Tawi-Tawi, Sulu, Basilan, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, Sultan Kudarat, and South Cotabato have been advised to evacuate immediately to higher ground and away from the shoreline as a precautionary measure.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and urge the public to follow official advisories and evacuation instructions.

ENSO Alert and Warning System to El Niño Alert

El Niño Alert issued ⚠️

DOST-PAGASA has officially raised its ENSO Alert and Warning System to El Niño Alert, following the high likelihood of its development in the coming months and possible persistence into early 2027. This may bring drier-than-usual conditions, including dry spells and droughts in parts of the country.

However, above-normal rainfall may still be experienced over the western sections during the Habagat season.

*To God be the Glory!*

The Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Unit expresses its gratitude to all personnel who worked tirelessly under the Incident Management Team. Special recognition is accorded to the SEPS in Social Mobilization and Networking, Sir Nilo Villarubia, who served as Incident Commander. The DRRM Unit deeply appreciates the dedication of all Section Chiefs and DRRM Coordinators in ensuring the safety and security of our constituents.

Sincere gratitude is extended to the Schools Division Superintendent, Ma’am Ma. Judelyn J. Ramos, for her full support and guidance which enabled the successful conduct of this great convergence. Likewise, appreciation is conveyed to the SGOD Chief, Ma’am Gay A. Apduhan, whose presence and steadfast support strengthened and energized the team in the discharge of its duties.

Recognition is also given to the Division School Sports Coordinator, PSDS Sir Ruel Fuerzas, for the trust and confidence extended to the DRRM Team from the activation of the IMT until the final securing of the event.

The DRRM Unit further acknowledges its partners from the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, and Philippine Army for their round-the-clock commitment to maintaining safety and order. Gratitude is likewise expressed to the Office of Civil Defense, under the leadership of Regional Director Atty. Ruel S. Halanes, for its unwavering support in initiatives of this magnitude.

To everyone who contributed to the safety and success of this Provincial Meet, the DRRM Unit conveys its highest salute and deepest appreciation.

This unity and shared purpose stand as a testament to service anchored on strong leadership, collaboration, and faith.
