The 4K Program successfully conducted an intensive training on ginger and turmeric production and powder processing for the Subanen community in Moliton, President Roxas, Zamboanga Del Norte.

From technical lectures by Mr. Michael Molina and Ms. Genevieve Hassan to hands-on practical sessions led by Ms. Stephanie Cornella, our local farmers are now fully equipped to boost their harvest and add value to their crops!

The 4K Program recently hosted a training session on Calamansi Production Management and Juice Processing for Subanen farmers in Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga del Sur. Led by the 4K staff, the technical lectures were delivered by Michael Molina and Genevieve Hassan, covering everything from planting and pest control to harvesting, while Stephanie Costanilla guided the hands-on juice processing. The participants walked away with valuable agricultural and business skills to improve their livelihoods, and everyone was incredibly grateful for the chance to learn and bring these new techniques back to their community.

๐Ÿ’๐Š-๐™๐€๐Œ๐๐„๐ ๐”๐ฉ๐๐š๐ญ๐ž๐ฌIOne hundred forty-five (145) Indigenous People (IP) farmers from the Pegumpungan Bansa Subanen De Kumalarang, Liargao Subanen Farmers Association, and Roxas Association of Subanen Tribe actively participated in the series of capacity-building activities, including the Marketing Strategies and Branding Training, Calamansi Production and Management Training, Calamansi Juice Development and Packaging Training, Salabat and Turmeric Powder Making Training, conducted on July 7โ€“9, 2026.

These training activities aimed to enhance the participants' knowledge and skills in agricultural production, product processing, value-adding, packaging, branding, and marketing. By equipping the IP farmers with practical techniques and entrepreneurial competencies, the program seeks to improve product quality, increase market competitiveness, create additional sources of income, and promote sustainable livelihood opportunities for Indigenous communities.

๐Ÿ’๐Š-๐™๐€๐Œ๐๐„๐ ๐”๐๐ƒ๐€๐“๐„๐’ | The DA - Kabuhayan at Kaunlaran ng Kababayang Katutubo Program in Zamboanga Peninsula continues to strengthen agricultural productivity and promote sustainable farming practices among Indigenous Peoples' Organizations (IPOs).

On July 3, 2026, the DA-4K Regional Program Management Office IX successfully distributed One Hundred (100) bags of vermicast and Forty (40) bags of inorganic fertilizers to the Roxas Association of Subanen Tribe in Pres. Manuel A. Roxas, Zamboanga del Norte.

The provision of these agricultural inputs is part of the program's continuing commitment to enhancing crop production, improving soil fertility, and increasing the productivity and resilience of Indigenous Peoples' farming communities. Through this intervention, the DA-4K Program aims to empower the association with the resources needed to support sustainable agricultural practices and contribute to improved food security and livelihood opportunities within their ancestral domain.

The Siayan Lupa Pusaka Subanen Association received Two Hundred Fifty (250) bags of vermicast on July 1, 2026, in Siayan, Zamboanga del Norte. This agricultural intervention supports the adoption of sustainable and organic farming practices by improving soil fertility and enhancing crop productivity.

Through this initiative, the DA - Kabuhayan at Kaunlaran ng Kababayang Katutubo Program continues to empower Indigenous Peoples' Organizations by promoting resilient livelihoods, increased agricultural productivity, and food security within their ancestral domains.

The distribution took place in Barangay Lacarayan, Tigbao, ZDS on June 22, 2026, aiming to boost local corn production, empower Subanen farmers, and strengthen sustainable farming practices within the ancestral domain.
