FINAL PRESENTATION OF CLIMATE AND DISASTER RISK ASSESSMENT I Municipality of Pagsanjan

Successfully conducted the Final Presentation of the Climate and Disaster Risk Assessment (CDRA) of the Municipality of Pagsanjan on August 12, 2026, at the RHU Conference Room, Brgy. Biñan, Pagsanjan, Laguna.

The activity was attended by representatives from the 16 Barangays, Municipal Department Heads, Municipal Officials, Hon. Mayor Januario Ferry G. Garcia, and the CDRA Specialist from UPLB headed by Dr. Efraim Roxas.

The CDRA is an important foundation for risk-informed development planning. It enables the Municipality to identify and understand the hazards, vulnerabilities, exposure, and risks affecting our communities, infrastructure, livelihoods, and environment. The assessment provides essential information in formulating appropriate programs, projects, and activities (PPAs) that can reduce disaster risks, strengthen climate resilience, protect communities, and guide sustainable land use and development decisions.

More importantly, the CDRA helps ensure that disaster and climate risks are properly considered in the Municipality’s planning, investment programming, and decision-making processes, allowing the LGU and its communities to be better prepared for present and future risks.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the 16 Barangays, LGU Departments, Municipal Officials, and the University of the Philippines – Los Baños for their valuable participation, technical expertise, cooperation, and commitment throughout the formulation of the CDRA.

This milestone would not have been possible without the collective efforts of everyone involved. Through collaboration and risk-informed planning, we move closer toward a safer, more resilient, climate-responsive, and sustainable Municipality of Pagsanjan.

LOCAL DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL MEETING | AUGUST 10, 2026

The Local Development Council (LDC) of the Municipality of Pagsanjan, Laguna convened on August 10, 2026 at the Mayor’s Office Conference Room to deliberate on key matters concerning the Municipality’s development planning, investment programming, project implementation, and participatory governance.

The meeting brought together members of the Local Development Council, concerned department heads, barangay officials, and other stakeholders to ensure that the Municipality’s development programs and investments remain responsive to local needs and aligned with its development priorities.

Among the major agenda discussed were:

🔹 Reprogramming of PPAs charged under the 20% Development Fund FY 2026
🔹 Supplemental Investment Program (SIP) No. 03-2026
🔹 Approval of the FY 2027 Annual Investment Program (AIP)
🔹 PPAs charged under the 20% Development Fund for FY 2027
🔹 Implementation of Registry of Barangay Inhabitants and Migrants (RBIM) in all 16 barangays
🔹 Selection of the CSO Representative to the Local Project Monitoring Committee (LPMC)

The conduct of the LDC meeting highlights the Municipality’s commitment to inclusive, transparent, participatory, and results-oriented local development planning. Through the active participation of various sectors and stakeholders, the Council provides a platform for meaningful discussion, coordination, and decision-making on programs and investments that directly affect the people of Pagsanjan.

The Municipality of Pagsanjan remains committed to strengthening coordination among the local government, barangays, national government agencies, and civil society organizations in pursuing sustainable and responsive development for all Pagsanjeños.

The Municipality of Pagsanjan, through the Municipal Planning and Development Office (MPDO), participated in the Training on the Crafting of the Local Public Transport Route Plan (LPTRP) conducted by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Region IV-A at their Regional Office in Lipa City.

The training equipped participants with the knowledge and technical skills needed to prepare a comprehensive and sustainable Local Public Transport Route Plan that will help improve the municipality's public transportation system, enhance mobility, and ensure safer, more efficient, and accessible transport services for the people of Pagsanjan.

This initiative reflects the Municipality's commitment to evidence-based planning and the development of a safe, reliable, and sustainable public transport network for the community.
